“Pleasant as always,” Malfoy drawled, giving Crookshanks a pat that the cat appeared to tolerate with moderate resignation. “I find a positively murderous feline in my classroom this morning, and I figure from the positively obnoxious attitude and the exaggerated size that this is your beast.”
He flashed her a sarcastic look, meant to pass for a question.
She rolled her eyes for lack of a better reply, ending it with a dirty squint. “You can let him go now.”
He didn’t, just stroked the miscreant who seemed quite content with its current location.
