Summary
This takes place after the season 6 finale, so spoilers ahead if you haven't finished!!
Marinette Dupain-Cheng loves Adrien Agreste. That's why she breaks up with him.
She tells herself it's the right thing to do. Some truths are too dangerous to tell, some secrets are too painful to uncover, and if keeping Adrien safe means letting him hate her, then Marinette can live with that.
At least, she thinks she can.
But Adrien knows Marinette is hiding something, and heartbreak quickly turns into determination. The more he searches for the truth behind their breakup, the more questions he finds. Some of the answers threaten to change everything he thought about his father, Marinette and Ladybug.
Meanwhile, the cracks are spreading beyond Marinette and Adrien's relationship.
Chat Noir is pulling away. Chrysalis is getting closer. And after learning how easily she can slip into places she was never meant to reach, Marinette begins to wonder whether anyone around her can truly be trusted.
