Only then did Steve realize how rough his voice had become.
Bucky’s eyes settled on him.
There was almost nothing in his expression.
He kept walking.
Bucky closed the distance between them in seconds and walked straight past him.
Steve reached out on instinct.
His palm closed around cold, unyielding metal.
Bucky stopped.
He let Steve hold his arm.
Steve forgot to breathe for a beat.
They were standing very close.
Bucky didn’t pull away.
Instead, his metal hand closed around Steve’s wrist. He turned his head slightly.
“Go,” he said, his voice low and firm.
