Chapter Text
Shadow Milk Cookie:
I walk out of the meeting room alongside my fellow remaining beasts and our minions trailing behind. Leaving Dark Enchantress Cookie and her followers behind in the room with a slam of the doors.
“Now that’s done with, where is Silent Salt Cookie?” Burning spice grumbles as he walks behind me dragging his axe on the floor. It surprisingly doesn’t make any noise as it drags along. Behind our minions follow, careful not to bump into it.
“He left us and I didn’t even notice!” He scoffs and rolls his eyes, his steps never faltering.
“Maybe he decided to get some well deserved rest!” Eternal sugar supplies from above. Her body curling onto a soft cotton candy cloud.
“He works so hard. I wish he would come stay in my garden, I’m sure he would love it!” She says holding her hands to her chest like the thought of Silent Salt overworking himself was physically hurting her heart.
“He probably realized how meaningless this whole ordeal is. In the end none of this will actually matter.” Mystic says to my right, her steps quiet enough that I forgot she was right next to me.
“Or maybe he needed to catch up on his brooding.” I joke and turn to her. Making a fake smile grace my face before turning back as quickly as I faced her. “But it doesn’t matter, wherever he ran off to doesn't concern me, he will come back. After all, we are all he has left.” I keep walking hoping to get back to my room as soon as I can.
“I still think he should come to my garden though, I can make him some sugar angels to keep him company! Oh! Do you think he would like my other half?” She perks up at the idea she came up with. “Oh, but who wouldn’t like Hollyberry… She's perfect.” She slumps back down into her cloud with a dreamy look on her face.
Her minion looked like he was ready to shoot himself with the bow and arrows he carried around with him.
“Eternal, please stop talking about Hollyberry, we get it she’s great.” I let my shoulders drop down a bit, comfortable around them, I don’t feel the need to be perfectly poised.
“Yes, it’s getting boring hearing the same thing everyday, several times a day.” Burning spice grunts and glares up at her, before stopping.
“I’m going to go find something to do outside, I'll catch up with you guys later.”
I turn, finding fun in pointing out the obvious. “By something to do, you mean break as much as you can before getting in trouble with our gracious host?”
He glares back, “Maybe, and maybe you should stop asking so many questions. After all, I thought you knew everything.”
Nutmeg Tiger stands behind him, her tail flicking back and forth as if she senses a fight.
I make my smile grow bigger as my eyes narrow daring him to say another word.
“Enough, both of you.” Mystic Flour opens her eyes to look at the both of us. Her face and tone betrays the fact that our petty squabbling is annoying her. But alas, I say nothing she will just deny it and preach about apathy. Her Haetae clutches her side, seemingly upset by the situation.
“Burning Spice, return in one piece, we must be ready for any… bumps in the plan, an injury would hinder us.” Mystic Flour states, clearly caring about the present situation more than she would like to admit. Or perhaps she still cares about us…
“Yeah whatever, just make it back soon so we can meet up without Dark Enchantress.” I say before turning back towards the direction of my room.
“Hmmm… very well. I will return in an hour.” He turns and walks out the door without another word.
“You know I really don’t understand why he likes to destroy things. It seems so counter productive to me.” Eternal sugar floats down watching him leave, before turning back to us.
“Whatever his reason may be, it doesn't matter.” I sigh and continue my journey to my room.
“I’m going to my room, I’ll see you guys in an hour.”
I walk down the hallway, my minions still silently following me. It’s actually surprising that Candy Apple hasn’t said a word the entire time.
We reach my door a moment later and I open it allowing us in, before shutting it and bolting the door.
“Candy Apple, go do something. Just don’t bother me for a little.” I turn to the both of them.
“Okay Master Shadow Milk!”
Candy Apple squeals and runs down the hall.
“Black Sapphire, I have a job for you.”
He lights up at the prospect, “Yes, what can I do Master.”
“Here take this, there should be enough diamonds in there.” I say as I hand the pouch over to Black Sapphire.
“And do what, exactly…?” He questions with a slight turn to his head.
“Go and get stuff to drink. I don’t care what it is. I’m tired of everyone being boring and bland, I’m gonna get them drunk.” I place a hand on my hip proud of myself for being so brilliant.
He looks up at me amused before slowly turning serious.
“Wait, are you being sincere? How are you even gonna get them drunk? You can’t just force them.” He seems concerned which is hilarious.
“Of course I know that! It’s going to be a victory drink, and then a few.” I laugh before contemplating. “The only ones that will be hard to convince will be Mystic Flour and Silent Salt, if he even comes to begin with.” I roll my eyes, he’s been acting weird and not his usual manner. It seems suspicious.
I start walking down the same way Candy Apple went down only moments before. Leaving Black Sapphire alone with the pouch.
“Very well.” He says, “I will be back as soon as I can.”
