Lived A Little, Yet Learned A Lot

Summary:

Post-war, the worlds moved on from everything - yet, the students and staff at UA just can't. It took a quiet collective mourning to frame what would document their experiences as notes - gifts, secrets and flowers that could never have been given and meant for each other. The war brought on many things - hurt, grief and loss - but it also tied a a thread so strong that this batch would never drift apart, healing what they thought they couldn't.
--------------- OR -----------------
A graduating batch publishes a large diary about their side of hero society. Contributed with pages from pro heroes and maybe... villains who thought they'd never come back.

Notes:

Hello!! this is my first fic (*sigh* and also going to be my longest running fic, idk how many chapters though) but I'd like to take the time to mention a couple of things before hand.
> The warnings will be given per chapter as they apply, but in general, the fic is teen and up audiences and largely focused on healing and recovery, so it can/might talk about depression, anxiety and other mental issues. Violence, however is at minimum and there is no non-con elements whatsoever.
> The fic is largely canon compliant, except that my character HC's will be applied; if you do not agree/dislike my interpretation then feel free not to read those parts or y'know, skip my story entirely lol (same applies to ships, they are my personal favs so you don't have to agree) My HC's have added more mental affects from the war as well as ethnicity + physical appearance changes
> an = mark is used to signify that up next it is a piece of conversation that happened while the characters were writing while - means that it is an entry in the actual diary.
> Feel free to give writing tips!! I'd appreciate the help, and also, if you liked my work feel free to comment/leave a kudos and ill be sure to read them! they'd mean a lot to me :D
> pls kindly ignore that I'm writing the entries in third-person, just pretend that they are in first-person (I don't write in first POV so it'd be really awkward lol), also sorry if the characters are OOC, I bent them to make them funnier + more realistic.
> Anddd most importantly, the spelling and grammar mistakes... Yeahh, English is technically not my first language so there will be those. It happens as I do not proof read these before publishing so expect pages to have descriptive changes over time.
>As I improve my understanding of mental issues/mental health in general, It'd be nice to note that characters dialogues might change etc. if I'm writing about mental health in a given chapter. I do try my best to not offend anyone and portray these themes in a non-harm intended way :).

TW (applicable ones for the entire series, or at least major ones) - PTSD, Anxiety, Panic attacks, Swearing, Self-Deprecating Humor, Canon-typical violence, Grief, Medical Procedures, Hospitalization, Hearing Loss, Rehab, Family loss. etc. etc.

Class 2-A/3-A's Part of unnamed diary
If found, please return to the Class 2-A/3-A dorms
unless someone threw this at your head, because damn you might have deserved it
(Stop reading what's not yours, this is our private property you damn extra)
(P.S. Was it thrown at ya by a particularly angry blond who kind of resembles a chihuahua? in which case you didn't deserve it (I hope))
(SHUT IT, YOU CAN'T BE TALKING FAKE ASS MEXICAN SPIDERMAN)
(Hey! that hurts y'know :<)

===================

Momo sighs audibly, Her class was filled with dorks. And upon looking up towards the front entrance, her sighing gets even more exasperated (she didn't know that was possible after UA's exams to be even more disappointed, She figures her class has a talent for it though) watching a sweaty exploding Bakugo chase after an equally sweaty and, somehow grinning, Sero around while Katsuki screams very... not PG swears at the poor guy.

"Bakugo Katsuki! stop chasing down Sero (besides, what you wrote wasn't the kindest comment- Though you aren't actually that wrong you know, I see the resemblance, damn) He only meant it with earnest-" "HUH? Are you fucking saying that you agree with" The blond rolls his eyes "this weirdo?" He says it with no harm whatsoever but Sero feigns hurt "owww, Kacchan that hurts!" "shut up"

Momo's really starting to wonder why Midoriya made her class rep at all (Todoroki, why the fuck would you even vote for me, I love you as my friend but god give me strength-) "Right, sooo I am just going to ignore you both, even though you both just vandalized the first page" She crosses her arms on her chest, "Rest of you guys, come over here, its ready!"

Everyone from around the living room huddled together towards the dimly lit wooden dining table, Kaminari and Mina were grinning like crazy "No, Mina you can't add glitter and unicorn stickers onto the front page and Kaminari, please don't use that handwriting of yours" Mina looks away, still grinning (Momo knew she's going to bomb the pages in a pink glitter mess anyways) while Kaminari frowns, "What? that handwriting you complain of is my best one! i thought people liked fancy fonts, guess you just don't have taste, class rep" Jirou looks across the table while crinkling her nose "If that's your best, then I do not want to wonder what your English writings going to be like" Katsuki snorts.

Meanwhile somewhere from the back, Iida comes through while adjusting his new black glasses, they suited him a lot better compared to the ones he broke last week (He didn't talk to Bakugo for a week after that, Didn't know that he was that childish; Its kind of funny in a cute way though Momo remarked) "Everyone, line up and take down your names one after the other" someone from the back goes "But this is just a diary, chief not one of Aizawa-Sensei's class tests" everyone's trying hard not to laugh as Momo's biting her cheek. Iida continues, clearly pretending to not of heard what his classmate said "Yes, it may not be one, but we all have other stuff to do, So writing initials is easier than having to mention names, is it?" No one said anything against the idea, quietly shuffling their feet until a bunch of 16 year old's were in a line.

Midoriya was the first in the line (No one wanted to write first) and picked up the pen that was in the elastic loop on the side. He scribbled down his name and then moved to side - one by one the list was done. Shouto then added "Now that that's done I have a question, what are we going to do about the extra blank space?" everyone looked at him and then back at the paper, the room was silent with thought for a few seconds until Izuku reluctantly said, "Not sure about this, but, what if we leave it for anyone else we'd need to mention? all of us want to talk about our lives, so it makes sense that over time we can add those initials of others too, just- don't make it derogatory please" He was eyeing Katsuki at that point, the blond look offended and poked his tongue out at him like a toddler. He definitely grumbled something along the lines of "I've only done it to people who deserve it" (You think everyone deserves it, Katsuki, then again they're funny so its fine)

The sun was setting pretty quickly by then, and Momo had placed a bookmark that she made this afternoon during their lunch break, a rather cute black cat shaped one with rosy cartoony cheeks (some people reacted better than others, Jirou especially thought it was cute - guess the cat liked the cat then) and closed the navy blue journal. a smile was creeping up her face when she glanced towards the kitchen, Katsuki was reluctantly (not, he definitely wanted to do it, he just won't tell because he's so stubborn ass) making everyone Katsudon for dinner on occasion of (Mina's words not hers) "Starting of a new tradition with the pals" with regards to their diary.

Momo wasn't sure what made them make it, only thing was that everyone had silently agreed that it was a more effective coping mechanism - given all that's happened in the span of the past one year, everyone just thought it felt right to give what they felt - even if no one asked for it. The class agreed not to tell anyone, but Midoriya gave them all the idea of giving Class B one as well - Katsuki was about to say some unfriendly things to that to which Kirishima and Asui told him to stop being mean about it. Surprisingly, He agreed and decided to help Midoriya give it to them the following day. The class liked the idea too (Itsuka had to clamp Neito's mouth shut though, or at least that what Bakugo said).

They all knew it was a great way to process what happened - emotions, promises, grief - but most importantly, memories; Because somethings are easy to slip away and fade from your grasp, even if you never wanted it to happen.

Maybe... They could mend them together in-between the margins
