Summary
In the dusty and forgotten attic room of a library lives a young girl named Thea and her beloved cat Cricket. She knows how to crawl through the air ducts silently, how to heat up cans of soup with a wish, and maybe even how to make people who pry forget she was ever there at all. When an owl brings her a letter on a hot summer's day, it opens up a whole world of magic waiting to be explored.
Portraits that move and ghostly professors are the least of her worries when there's a mysterious illness sweeping Hogwarts and one of her roommates is getting cursed letters. The castle might feel like the best home she's ever had, but there's a part of Thea that still wishes for something else - a family. But amid a plot to destroy the very foundations of Hogwarts itself, the wrong choice may cost her everything she's grown to love.
