Felix tilts his head. “Are you trying to make me fall in love with you, Sir Christopher?”
Chan stops functioning. Felix watches it happen. First the ears, then the neck, then the cheeks. Red. Chan looks away. “I… I should go.”
Felix bites the inside of his cheek. “Already?”
“I have training.”
“In an hour.” Felix steps closer, and Chan takes one step backward. That’s fascinating. Felix takes another, and Chan’s back meets the bookshelf. “Are you avoiding my question?”
“What question?”
“Whether you’re trying to make me fall in love with you.”
Chan stares straight ahead. “That is generally the purpose of courtship.”
