Abolish’s pov:
It was starting to become quite late and Abolish was exhausted by the sheer incompetence of his colleagues, truly you’d think all of them were secretly working against the department. And yet he knew for a fact that the only other people secretly working for Scott in the inter department where: Apo, the chef of the local station in Scott's area, and Pyro, who worked in the filing office. Of course, he was the only other person except for Scott to know exactly who worked for the charming man. So he knew for a fact that the officer eating his dinner at the desk in front of him instead of working, was just like that and not acting less competent than he was, which was infuriating.
The officer, who was called Martyn was a generally infuriating man. Talked loudly, breathed loudly; even his penmanship was somehow Loud. He also smoked his cheap and stinking cigars at the table with the windows closed, and, worst of all, he chewed loudly with his mouth open and still talking, always talking. Abolish had already requested another partner after his old one got promoted, for all the flaws Morcant had he at least knew how to shoot up every once in a while and he did train him.
Abolish knew that it was just his thing to find the flaws every person ever had and be annoyed by the imperfections (except for Scott who was so perfect not even Abolish could find a single flaw) but Martyn was simply a walking problem for his sanity. Abolish was not surprised in the slightest that his father had sent him to become an officer at the station, probably with the hope of him dying in a second-rate street fight. And he should be getting this report done instead of trying to break Abolish's patience.
“What do you think Abolish you got any special ladies?” Martyn suddenly addressed him in the middle of his conversation about who at the station he found attractive and what kind of woman he was into. As Martyn spoke with his mouth still full a piece of the sandwich, he was chewing, landed on Abolish's report, THAT WAS A STEP TOO FAR!!
“That’s it!” Abolish declared clearly annoyed as he got up and started putting his coat on, “you are the absolute worst, im leaving early for the night, whatever happens that’s on you, and for the love of any god that might be listening, grow up” with that Abolish grabbed his suitcase and put all of the work he would finish later at home in it, then he put his fedora on his head and left.
He just felt so angry and frustrated, if he didn’t calm down and relax he was going to commit some kind of murder. He needed something that would calm him down and only one thing came to mind, one person he'd been missing the past few days, so instead of heading home he had another idea. As he walked he pulled out his cigar and lit it, maybe the smoking would help him a bit before he got there. Before he got to see him.
Martyn pov:
What the hell is this guy's problem?!
Did he not like me asking about his lady situation? Maybe he doesn't want to talk about his personal life? Maybe he's upset cause he doesn't have a lady? Or maybe he just felt like a dramatic exit? Truly, I don’t understand this guy like at all.
“What did ya do this time lad?” Renhardt asked the younger as he walked over to my desk.
“I don't know, I didn’t do anything i just asked him if he had a special lady and then he suddenly flipped,” Martyn immediately defended, it wasn’t his fault that Abolish was like this.
“It seems like that really upset him,” M remarked from the holding cell, while leaning against the bars. He had once again been caught, what for this time Martyn didn’t even know, M was in here most evenings anyway, so it wasn’t really unusual. But he never was here for anything serious, just minor incidents, that landed him a night in jail. At this point it was probably his second home.
“Indeed you should go after him and apologise, dontcha know!” Renhardt loudly and confidently declared.
“Fine, but you’re coming to,” Martyn hesitantly agreed, before grabbing his and Ren's coats and hats.
The two men then quickly left together, barely catching Abolish turning the corner at the end of the street and eminently strating to try and catch up before a thought passed through Martyn's head, “Specs, doesn’t Abolish live in the other direction?”
“Now that you mention it, he definitely dose dontcha know,” Renhardt remarked as he thought about it.
“Then where is he going?” Martyn asked as his curiosity was sparked. A weird colleague that doesn't head to his house after leaving work now that is intriguing.
“We must not pry into Mister Veylocke’s private business we are just going to apologise and leave,” Ren clearly stated.
“Or, hear me out, we follow him, without him ever knowing. Come on, don't tell me you’re not also curious, plus he's always so secretive about his personal life maybe he is actually a mole in the department or an international spy.” Martyn started theorising.
“We are going to follow from a distance but just to prove that you are wrong about Abolish, Mister Woodhurst,” Renhardt hesitantly agreed, if only so this wouldn't turn into some kind of conspiracy. And so they stealthy follow Abolish who after a half-hour walk entered a club, the kind of club where they definitely didn’t expect him to enter. And Renhardt would now be lying if he said he didn’t find it suspicious of Abolish to go there, mostly cause he didn’t seem like the type, to go into a jazz club, especially not this one.
Abolish’s pov:
It almost felt like a weight was lifted from Abolish’s shoulders as he walked into the club, and wasn’t that ironic. He had never truly liked this part of the city before. Always hated how bright the lights were, how overwhelming the sound was, and how touchy the people would get. He still kinda disliked those parts, but it had somehow become much more bearable since he met Scott.
Abolish walked over to his classic table in the corner, the same table he always sat at when he came here, as it was the best table in the whole establishment, in his personal opinion. Abolish was certain at this point that Scott had the table always reserved for him, as he had never seen anyone else sitting there when he came, no matter how busy it was or if he announced his arrival. The lightbulb above the table wasn’t scruwed in all the way leading the light to not be quite as bright as at the other tables, something he knew Scott purposefully never had fixed. Along with that the table was far enough in a corner that no one really bothered him and most of the sound dampened out a bit before reaching him.
Abolish placed his suitcase on the floor under the table before letting himself sink into the plush seat of the couch behind it, just then the girl currently on stage finished her song earning cheers from the audience before the next performer stepped onto the stage, and Abolish’s heart made a little somersault.
It was Scott, many others probably wouldn’t recognise him or even recognise that he was a guy, but Abolish eminently did. Scott was wearing a glittery dark red and black slip dress that fell to his knee, along with that he was wearing his white long silken gloves and his black fur shawl over his shoulder. Scott was also wearing his dark red high heels and an arrangement of gold jewelry, including a featherd head band. It seemed like today though he was feeling a bit more scandalous as he left out the tights that Abolish knew would usually accompany the outfit, not that he minded quite the contrary even, fashion was Scott's thing and whatever he wanted to wear whould with out a doubt, make him look gorgeous.
Scott had now started singing, and Abolish could not tell you a word of the song, but just hearing Scott's sweet voice made him completely forget the frustration he had felt at his coworkers. So he just stayed there relaxing and enjoying Scotts wonderful show.
Before Scott even reached his first chorus he looked over at Abolish's table, at Abolish. Their eyes met, and a smile snuck its way onto Scott’s face, as he seemingly started to put even more energy into his performance, while mostly looking directly at Abolish. And if the officer didn’t know any better than this must be what heaven feels like. He loved being able to see Scott’s shows, almost as much as he loved to see Scott just in general.
The song came to an end as Scott bowed, and Abolish started clapping. Before Scott walked down the stage and weaved through a few tables with people trying to get his attention before making it to Abolish and gently placing a hand on the table as he started speaking, “What a surprise to see you here today, darling~, I hope you didn’t wait around to long”
“Not at all, I just got here and wanted to see you Scott,” Abolish responded as he motioned for Scott to come sit with him instead of just looming over his table.
Scott happily accepted the offer as he walked closer before sitting down on Abolish's lap, completely short-circuiting the poor man's brain. “Awe, did you miss me love, or were your stupid colleagues just bothering you again~”
“Both” Abolish said with a sigh of relief as he hugged Scott's waist to pull him closer and buried his face in the other's neck. Scott then leaned his head down to so he could talk into Abolish’s ear, “you where follow by some officers love, I noticed them during my show,”
“What?” Abolish coldly asked as he raised his head in the crook of Scott's neck so he could look around the room that’s when he spotted Martyn and Renhardt clearly watching them from another table while failing to seem inconspicuous, “first the ruin my work, and now there intruding on our time, they really want me to kill them don’t they?”
“That could be an option,” Scott hummed with an unimpressed tone and a wicked smirk. It seemed like he had a different idea and it must be a really good one if he prefers it over Abolish murdering them, because he knew Scott loved it when he got rid of those who annoyed the beautiful criminal. Scott even liked it so much he'd often join just to sit of to the side and watch with glee.
“But you want to do something else?” Abolish questioned with a raised eyebrow. He wanted Scott to tell him what was on his mind. Always.
“I was just thinking they followed you to find something so why not give them something to find, put on a little show if you will,” Scott offered while sliding his arm along Abolish's arm. The intention was now very clear.
“Yes,” Abolish said without a second thought, before he brought their lips together in a hungry kiss. And then he moved to leave kisses along Scott’s arm trailing up to his neck and collarbone. They would give the two officers a quick show and then leave to do their own thing. He was already planning on staying at Scott place anyway. And the day after, Martyn didn’t even try to make eye contact with him once, Scott always knew how to fix all of his issues and also make it fun. Maybe he should do something for Scott too, take care of a problem he was having as well, Scott did mention a business partner of his was giving him trouble surly abolish could just fix that for him, maybe invite Scott while he did it he did like to watch that kind of show after all.
