When he first lost this stupid bet to Katie and she had just asked him to rent out a specific book from the library for her, he had been relieved. That was before Katie revealed that she didn’t know the name of the book and just wrote him a description to go off of. So in other words she just wanted him to make a fool out of himself in front of whichever librarian he would have to ask for help, which was great. Just great.

It was starting to become quite late and Abolish was exhausted by the sheer incompetence of his colleagues, truly you’d think all of them were secretly working against the department. And yet he knew for a fact that the only other people secretly working for Scott in the inter department where: Apo, the chef of the local station in Scott's area, and Pyro, who worked in the filing office. Of course, he was the only other person except for Scott to know exactly who worked for the charming man. So he knew for a fact that the officer eating his dinner at the desk in front of him instead of working, was just like that and not acting less competent than he was, which was infuriating.

How cruel could a human be to leave him here all alone (there were theoretically a lot of others around, but they didn’t interest the lord)and sad and bored. And why was it taking Abolish so long to come back, Scott had just thought of a fun new game he wanted to play with the other. A game that would end with his butler as a flustered mess, this time, surely it would happen.

This was supposed to be nothing more than a fun midnight stroll over the rooftops of the city, maybe a little robbery, just for fun. Just the two of them enjoying their evening free from everyone else’s expectations. And Owen couldn’t have been happier. He had long since admitted to himself that he loved Scott. He loved everything about the white-haired man. And getting to spend a whole evening with him doing whatever they wanted, it was absolutely perfect. Like they were on some sort of cute little date, like the ones Scott once described wanting to go on. At least that's how it started.
