Chapter Text
Every day, students attend an elite private school full of aristocrats and thousand-dollar uniforms. Doves fly through the campus, surrounded by gold embellished buildings and pink-purple structures. Ouran Academy; a symbol of prosperity and wealth.
But there lies a club in music room three. A host club, to be exact. A place where the school’s handsomest boys with too much time on their hands entertain girls in the same predicament. It serves as an elegant playground for the academy’s most rich and beautiful.
“Only a flower from heaven itself could rival your beauty, mademoiselle.” Said the golden-haired prince from his place on the couch.
Over near the entrance were two identical twins.
“Hikaru…. Stop telling people about what we do at night…!”
“Hm. I guess your little noises make it hard to resist, Kaoru.”
By the sturdy and elegant pillar stood two third years.
“Takashi, you have to try this cupcake!”
“Hm. It’s good.”
“Only fifteen thousand yen for this one, ladies,” said the charming one wearing glasses. He sold magazines of pictures to the customers interested; although, some were blatantly more attracted to the man himself.
All were hard at work, distributing their services to the flustered women.
All, except for one.
Down the grand staircase and to the right was a bathroom.
“Ergh..! Seriously?”
A young brunette sat in a pink stall, staring at a potent red stain on her undergarments.
It's a good thing I didn't bleed through my pants...
Stuffing toilet paper in her underwear as a temporary solution, she got up and started searching the bathroom for any tampon dispensers. When she found one, she hurriedly stuffed a quarter inside, only to receive nothing.
Groaning, she let her forehead fall and hit the metal machine. What could she do now? It wasn't like she could ask the nurses. If they knew she was a girl, the host club would kill her! For the same reason, she couldn't ask her classmates.
The only other girl who knew was...
Renge!
With her resolve temporarily strengthened, Haruhi set out to find the manager. Storming through the hallways (out of anger or determination; it's up to you) she checked every room. She knew Renge wasn't at the host club itself, as she was never present unless she decided it.
It's only Renge; she couldn't be too far. She always shows up in that huge machine anyways...
After checking that whole floor, Haruhi thought she'd be downstairs, given that's where she always arose from. Running from room to room, Haruhi started asking around. Nobody knew where the blonde was. When she didn't find her there, she ran to check the next building over and was told by classmates that she had gone to the elementary wing. Haruhi decided to walk there, out of breath.
Only to be told that Renge had just left.
"DAMN IT!" She exclaimed, crumpled at one of the children's bathroom sinks. "Why do I have to suffer through this just because I'm a girl..." She looked clutched her stomach. "It's not like I wanna have children anyways!"
Something tapped her leg. Startled, she looked down. A little girl; probably a middle-schooler held up a pad. Haruhi, dumbfounded, muttered a 'thank you' before the girl slipped away. Haruhi stared a bit before retreating to a stall and putting it on.
It was after she washed her hands and stared at her reflection for a bit that she realized the time. Hanging her head in submission, she clenched her fist.
This was going to be a long week.
"E-excuse me, Tamaki-senpai?"
"Yes, ladies? What can I help you with?" He turned his head to address the crowd of girls now gathered near him. He quirked his brow; he was used to sudden crowds, but this lot usually hung around Haruhi.
"Have..." The girl seemed timid. "haveyouseenfujioka?" She muttered.
"I'm so sorry mademoiselle, could you say that again? Your delicate voice was simply too quiet to be heard."
The girl blushed helplessly, before another popped in. "Haruhi isn't here. We were wondering if you knew where he was." The crowd nodded in agreement. "He is sometimes late because he goes to the library, but usually he's here by now."
"Yeah, we walked him here around thirty minutes ago, when the club opened-" said Hikaru, who had been lingering nearby.
"-but we haven't seen him since!" Added Kaoru.
Tamaki slammed down his cup.
"HARUHI IS MISSING?!" The room went silent. "This is a matter that must be tended to at once! He is simply not the type to skip out on club activities abruptly!" He stood up, putting on his blazer (which had been shed due to it being "too hot") and getting ready to charge out the door.
"Now hold on just a minute," rang out Kyoya's voice of reason, "have you even stopped to consider where he might be?" At the blond's blank stare, he sighed.
"Haru-chan mentioned going to the bathroom I think!"
"Still, a thirty-minute bathroom break is a concerningly long amount of time needed to relieve oneself!" So, with resolve, Tamaki opened the door.
And let out a shrill scream.
"GAAAH!" He jumped up, landing in Kyoya's arms. They all peered over him to see what had scared him.
Haruhi stood in the doorway, her presence carrying a heavy black aura. Her face was subtly downturned, and a vein in her forehead looked about to burst. "Seriously, guys? I can't even go to the bathroom?"
Tamaki, still trembling in Kyoya's arms stuttered out, "You scared me! And n-no, daddy was just concerned is all, haha..."
Haruhi rolled her eyes, to the shock of every occupant in the music room. She took a deep inhale, turning to face her regulars. "Thank you for being so patient, though."
They blushed and readily forgave her. Weirdly, a couple the girls seemed into this newly shown aggressive side of her. Even other customers who didn't regularly talk to Fujioka were into it.
When she sat down, more girls surrounded her, seeming eager to engage. Tamaki frowned. He was used to her being so mean, but that seemed like a small issue for someone as calm as Haruhi to get worked up about. Deciding not to let it get to him, he resumed his role as host, albeit a bit concerned about Haruhi.
Weirdly, he soon heard her cute laugh. He gazed at her smiling form, watching her wipe her teary eyes and continue conversation with the vast company, light and unconcerned. He exhaled a breath of relief, assuming it had been a momentary mood and that she would no longer get all scary like she had earlier.
When the club hours came to an end, the gentlemen accompanied the attendants outside to the chauffeur pad where they could be picked up. Once only the hosts were left, the twins pounced on Haruhi. She let out a brief yelp, before struggling in their hold.
"Cmon' Haruhiii-"
"-Let us come to your house today!"
Tamaki was ready to step in, to tell them off and leave her alone, but froze when he saw that same scowl reappear on her face.
"No." She growled at them, slipping from their tight grasp. A gust of chilly air blew her bangs in front of her eyes as she gathered her belongings in silence. Everyone watched, dumbfounded, before she slipped away with not even as much as a goodbye. The twins looked at each other and shrugged before heading in their own direction.
Huh?! I can't seriously be the only one who's bothered by her behaviour?
Tamaki felt a hand on his shoulder then. His two seniors appeared beside him.
"Haru-chan seemed so angry today..." Muttered Honey, his chin resting on Mori's head. Mori nodded in agreement.
"Maybe she was just having a bad day," dismissed Kyoya, "None of us are immune."
That night, Tamaki stared at his ceiling. What he had said was true; everybody had their bad days. It was just shocking to see Haruhi so cold. He pressed his lips into a tight line and fell asleep.
