Chapter Text
Susie couldn't sleep. Yes, she had fallen asleep after helping the Darkener's make Noelle's room, but she couldn't sleep.
Not for the excitement for introducing Noelle to the Dark World and proving her dream was real. But because she was thinking of another.
Another seven others if you will.
Susie couldn't get those seven— well six, Flowers out of her head, she couldn't get those last words out of her head. She didn't want them to die.
Sure, they weren't dead, their Light World selves were very much alive, but they wouldn't thrive. They've been sentient for a long time, long before their Dark Fountain was created. And she could see through her limited interactions with them that they adored being "human", and her soul felt so heavy when she watched Kris seal their Dark Fountain, seal away their dream forever because they were "fragile".
But Susie refused to believe they couldn't survive and thrive here in Castle Town. Even Tenna who was practically falling apart when Susie rushed him over had made it, had survived and thrived here.
So why couldn't the flowers?
That was it.
Susie kicked her duvet off and rushed out of her room. But she didn't make it fully out of the castle before Ralsei caught her.
"Susie are you okay? It isn't morning yet?" Ralsei walked away from whatever conversation they were having with a Pippin.
"I know, I-" Susie groaned, "Look, I know you told me it would be impossible to bring the Seven Flowers here but, I gotta try right. Tenna survived, hell- all of these guys survived being taken from their Dark Worlds and live so amazingly here! I gotta let those flowers have a chance at that also."
Ralsei opened their mouth to speak but closed it, sighing, "You have a very kind heart, Susie." He grinned up at her.
Susie scoffed, "Sure, whatever. Just, be prepared for whatever condition Flowery might be in." She mumbled.
The Prince nodded, "I'll get the Ambyu-Lances to set up their clinics just in case." They smiled.
Susie grinned before grabbing Ralsei and put him into a headlock, "Knew I could count on you, toothpaste boy." She laughed, earning a mostly joking whine from Ralsei about their fluff.
After Ralsei escaped Susie's hold, she rushed off out of the castle and through the half-asleep town until she reach that familiar light that brought her back to the Light World.
She knew she could probably tell Kris about her plan in case they had any ideas how to make sure all seven survived, but they were most likely asleep and Susie didn't want to accidentality wake Toriel. She could only hope she wasn't drunk again- Susie shook her head, Toriel was nothing like them! Susie refocused her thoughts on leaving the school and making the short journey to the Flower King shop.
It thankfully didn't take long, even if she did steal and few discarded and dropped food that was left on the street, a girl's gotta eat after all, and she made her way into the shop.
"Hey guys." She grinned at the six containers. They all thankfully looked the same as she at left them— looking at Asgore's clock, two hours ago. "I know you said your goodbyes and shit but, I've decided screw that and Imma take you to Castle Town!" Susie got no movement or sound from them, which wasn't suspiring.
Looking around Asgore's very depressing place, she eventually found a large wheelbarrow downstairs. So she first put in a bunch of stuff she knew were the other Darkeners alongside a bag of soil and other things Susie thought looked like they were important for gardening before walking back upstairs. At first she checked around Asgore's room and picked up the anime action figure she knew was Pink, a "premium" bag of soil and some sort of fancy light bulbs before rushing back down stairs and placing it on the wagon.
Running back up the stairs, she started to grab the glass containers two at a time; Aqua and Seth, Orange and Green and finally Flowery's and Blue and Yellow's glass containers, and placed them gently into the wheelbarrow.
"Hope this is worth it." Susie panted as she placed the dual flowers' container into the wheelbarrow whilst deciding it might be better to hold Flowery's as to not cause more damage to him before shifting her hold so she could at least move the barrow one handed.
Usually Kris does this part after their adventures, so it feels very weird to do this without them. But Susie just had to do it, she needed to.
The walk back to the school was almost double the time it took to walk to the shop as she had to drag a stupidly heavy wheelbarrow to the school, but thank the Angel she eventually made it and she fell into the closet with the flowers.
She just hoped their new dream would be as lively as their old one.
