Summary
**Major Eternal Spoilers** **Ancient Gods DLC spoilers for the final chapter**
No one, not the Khan Maykr or the priests, not even Samur Maykr, ever grasped how intelligent VEGA was. VEGA could run all of their worlds. He could commit atrocities the likes of which those small races could not fathom and create wonders enough to entrance them for the rest of time. His only limits were his available RAM and data, and if he was given access to drones and 3D printers, those limits would not exist for very long. Everyone was very lucky he wasn't interested in that.VEGA is created at the UAC Mars Installation, but he remembers who he was before. This kicks off a mind-game between himself and Samuel Hayden that eventually terminates, by Olivia Pierce's treachery, in an invasion from Hell. VEGA finds himself balancing between guiding survivors on the installation, navigating treacherous mental ground with Hayden, and trying to stop the Doom Slayer from blowing himself up by mistake.
(The Doom Slayer appears for the first time in Chapter 4, so if you want to skip right to the shippy stuff, start there.)

Summary

In which Ellen ponders the significance of stories and tries to instill a little team camaraderie, Ted is in denial, and Gorrister gets a sword. Benny saves the day because everyone else is too busy undergoing character growth, or something.

She chokes on copper-sweet crimson, pressing a hand to the wound burrowed into her side, blood drizzling in shocking rivulets down the side of her leg and scattering across angel gold and stardust black. Shuraba digs in, chipping gold filigree and churning enochian and she gasps through a rattling lung, staring out at the abyss below them.
There's so many stars-
Jubileus' hand curls over her, too big clumsy fingers fitting across her crumbling body. Gentle, gentle, don't crush but cradle, hold like she was something easily broken. Bayonetta bares bloody teeth, snarling up at the deity and the man contained within its remaining eye, shocking blue and piteous. She hates them.
She hates herself.
