Summary
Hermione Granger returns to Hogwarts for her eighth year with three things set in her mind:
To graduate with a sweep of Outstandings.
To earn a place in her chosen career rather than take one that was handed to her.
And, most of all, to not get involved in anything that requires her to have responsibility outside of her work.A final year that is the epitome of focused tranquillity. The exact opposite of her Hogwarts career so far.
That is until McGonagall reveals the latest Ministry scheme for Hogwarts; the upcoming abolishment of all Houses.
Suddenly, Hermione is charged with ensuring the transition over the next year runs smoothly.
Between clandestine Quidditch matches, study groups with Slytherins, Astronomy Tower parties, and a series of other mandatory bonding activities—Hermione is much more involved than she ever thought possible.
And when she finds out that the Ministry's plans to change further centuries-old laws will put the lives of people she has come to care about at risk, Hermione decides that getting involved is her only option.
