It's A Bunny Thing

Summary:

Honestly, they should all just be happy Frank didn't fucking bite her. He could, you know. He's done it before.

Of the adventures of Bunny Hybrid Frank Langdon, his growing family, and his "hot bunny harem," as Shen loves to call it.

Notes:

I wasn't going to write anything new, but this was starting to drive me nuts, so I had to write it and send it into the universe. I apologise in advance.

Work Text:

They are all lucky Frank didn’t just bite her.

Frank knew she was going to be difficult the moment he waddled in and found the swan hybrid, tall and elegant, dressed in Lululemon and a head full of highlights, standing next to his patient, the teen owl hybrid, bright red while her mother fussed over her. The woman was about forty or so, in fantastic shape but screamed privileged and conservative. One of the hybrids who believed there was one right cultural standard for every hybrid species.

She took one look at Frank’s ears, his scrubs, the obvious swell of his stomach and then one look at Victoria, the panther hybrid who was still very much an unsure cub under it all, and directed all her tightly wound energy and expectations at Victoria instead of Frank. That was four hours ago, and now Frank was losing patience. He was tired, hungry, he needed to pee, his back and feet hurt, and he needed to get upstairs and nurse his litter of kits in the PTMC-provided daycare.

“My daughter is not getting reproductive information from a Bunny hybrid.” She snapped. “Everyone knows Bunny hybrids have no concept of what an actual committed relationship is, sleeping with whoever they want, and popping out children with no respect for common decency or what is appropriate.”

“Right.” Frank didn’t bother to use a polite tone, blood pressure and annoyance rising, “I’m going to get you another doctor.” He didn’t explain, waddling back out and letting out a string of curses before handing the case off to Robby, the brown bear hybrid raising an eyebrow at the bunny, looking over his computer at Frank.

“And you’re handing it off, because?”

“Because she essentially called all bunny hybrids immoral sluts who can’t keep their legs shut and have no idea what birth control is.”

Robby raises a brow further, and Frank rolls his eyes. “Just because I’m slut who doesn’t keep my legs shut and chooses not to use birth control after years of being on it since puberty doesn’t mean the rest of us are.” Frank gripes. “I have morals,” he objects quietly, tacking it on with a sheepish smile.

The bear cracks a smile at that, and Frank sticks his tongue out. “You’re a slut, but you’re our slut, Frankie.”

He slowly lowers himself to the seat Robby had been sitting in giving a groan as he did, and Robby lingers for a moment, the Bear a constant in his life, and the father of his oldest kits, Carter and Flynn, refusing to leave Frank’s side through the years. He still sometimes struggled with Bunny cultural customs, how different they could be compared to most other species, but he was determined to be part of Frank’s life, to be part of his kits' lives, not just the ones Frank bore him, and Frank found himself falling in love more and more.

Something he was trying very hard to do and would not tell Robby, if he could help it, knowing what they had was the closest Robby could handle to commitment.

“You were going to bite someone, weren’t you?”

He looked at Perlah and smiled,  reaching for the jerky he’d been craving for months now, giving speculation that this was finally the pregnancy that Frank gave birth to a pup. Frank had proudly given birth to seven children in the last five years, and every single one of them had been bunny kits. There was no way he was going to give birth to a pup now.

“I bite one person, one time, and suddenly I have a reputation.” Frank cracked, earning a snort from Perlah, the incident living in infamy since.

The patient had been belligerent and downright rude, while firmly hitting on Frank, who had been pregnant with Eloise at the time, making sexual remarks about bunnies and breeding, and Samira had gone to get Ahmed when the man had the nerve to reach out and touch Frank’s stomach. Everyone knows how dangerous Bunny hybrids can be when angry; a protective and angry Bunny is even worse, and yet people forget that fact constantly.

Frank had bitten his finger off. He was put on early maternity leave, and the incident was reviewed; Frank had been forced to go to conflict management courses, but he was back after he gave birth to his sweet little Eloise, the smallest still of all his kits.

“I mean, there are worse reputations to have.” Princess retorted, “You could be Oligivie.”

All three shuddered at the mention of the med student, the turtle hybrid driving everyone a little insane, and could not for the life of him fathom how Frank had given birth to nothing but bunny hybrids, when every single one of his partners had been Predator Hybrids. Samira called him an idiot to his face, and McKay had said which craft.

“By the way, he put a hundred dollars on you having a cub.”

“He has a hundred dollars?”

“In this economy?”

Frank and Princess shared looks and then looked at Perlah, who gave a shrug. “It’s not my money I’m losing,” The spotted deer brushed off with a wry smile.

“Hey, Frank?”

Dennis was standing there, hands in his pockets, scrubs stretched across his broad muscles that had developed since helping Amy at the farm, replacing the farm with home restoration and the gym with Jack, and Frank had the sudden urge to bite for a whole different reason. He was fully blaming hormones; the German Shepherd hybrid and the father of his current youngest, Auden Marie, had been driving Frank insane all shift. Between Dennis and Robby, Frank was going to end up dying of dehydration. Thankfully, Baran had the day off and was staying home with Flynn, Carter, and Bea; otherwise, Frank is pretty sure he would have been dead by ten am.

“Babies are awake, and they tried to call you, but said they couldn’t reach you.”

“Fuck.” Frank mutters and is out of his chair and waddling to the elevator, followed by Dennis, who shot Frank a wink when he stepped into the elevator with him. His hands automatically found Frank’s stomach and ass, and his kiss was way too filthy for three pm and Frank can already feel himself growing wet, and Dennis is still wearing that smug smile when he goes back down to the Pitt when Frank steps out of the elevator with another wink. None of his partners actually came with him when Frank nursed at the day care.

He spends two hours nursing, all four babies, and Frank is in heaven in a specially designated nursing nest, Eloise and Audie on his tits while he watches his second pair of twins toddle around. Shen had come up to Frank when he was eight months pregnant with Bea, and asked him point blank how he could become part of his ‘hot bunny harem’ as he called it. Frank had rolled his eyes and thought he was joking.

Shen wasn’t, and Frank got knocked up with identical twin girls before Bea turned seven months old. Like Carter and Flynn, other than being bunny hybrids, there was nothing of Frank physically in Emmit and Bo, the toddlers, looking exactly like miniature Shen’s, something he liked to pout about until Robby or Shen kissed it better. He’s nursing Emmi and Bo when Jack sends the text of Baran with the boys and Bea at the park; the Asiatic lion hybrid and the greying wolf hybrid were married already when they invited Frank into their bed, and both, like Robby, were willing to stick around, wanted to stick around, be part of all the children's lives.

Shen had scoffed and asked Frank what part of “how do I get to be part of your hot bunny harem?” Frank did not get it when Frank had asked him about the twins, the tiger hybrid grinning widely and was in the middle of ordering an obscene amount of ‘this family runs on Dunkin’ sweatshirts for Frank and all the kits.

Surprisingly, it was Dennis who had the easiest time adjusting to the bunny family dynamic. Growing up on a farm in Nebraska, he knew enough Bunny Hybrids with their own farms to know how things worked. He also knew the risk when he found out Frank wasn’t on birth control, hadn’t been since Robby knocked him up when he was MS4. He had eaten Frank out like he was dying of thirst and fucked Frank raw anyway.

Dennis was hung like a goddamn horse.

Robby is waiting for him when he gets back downstairs, the bear looking proud of himself as he steers Frank to the break room, and Frank finds an obscene amount of food waiting for him. He swears; between his current pregnancy and nursing four babies, he’s a bottomless pit.

“For me? You shouldn’t have.”

“It’s a reward for not biting anyone.”

“Awww, but you like it when I bite you.”

Robby points a finger at him playfully, “Watch it.” He pulls Frank into a lazy kiss, uncaring if they're in the break room, breaking his normally strict rule of PDA at work. “Eat. We’ll come get you if you’re needed.”

“And if I want to eat you?” Frank asks with false sweetness, and Robby’s smirk sends a shiver down Frank’s spine.

“If you’re a good little bunny for me today, when we get home, you can eat me whole.”

Frank moaned at the thought of Robby’s dick in his mouth and vowed to behave the rest of the day. His resolve lasted three more hours before he had to be held back from hitting Oligive upside the head with a kidney bowl for being a pretentious asshole.
