Summary
After breaking up with Peter Kavinsky, Lara Jean decided to stay in New York for the summer, sharing an apartment with Gen and interning at the Daily Bugle. It’s not exactly the job she’d like to have, but at least it pays the bills! While grabbing coffee for the office, she happens upon Spider-Man fighting the Scorpion, only to be swept into the middle. When Spider-Man saves her, she lets out a shaky “Peter?” before slipping into unconsciousness.
Afraid his identity was somehow exposed, he checks in on LJ only to discover she wrote him a letter. At first he reads it because he’s scared for his future, but he finds companionship instead. A girl all alone in New York, dealing with grief and mourning a love just like he was. He only wrote a letter back because it was the polite thing to do. Yet of course they continue to exchange letters and become part of each other's lives. And perhaps they might be falling in love in the process, despite how much the two of them deny it.
Or
Peter saves Lara Jean as Spider-Man and thinks his secret identity may have been exposed, so he checks on her, only for them to trade letters and fall in love, all while she interns at the Daily Bugle.
