Summary
What if Darcy had done something reprehensible and only realized it after the forced wedding? How could he start to rebuild trust?
Forced marriage is a common trope in our community, but as a survivor of sexual assault I often find the resolution unsatisfying: Elizabeth basically forgets that she was forced as soon as she sees the size of Darcy's estate (or something). I would like to read more about the long and hard path of rebuilding trust and Darcy overcoming his habit of arranging other people's lives as he sees fit. This is my attempt.
The story is set in my Repentance universe, after Eleven Days, but can be read as a one-shot.
