Summary
One year after he was released from the mental health ward following a suicide attempt, Dean’s finally found himself doing what he knew he would — following in his father’s footsteps and taking over the family business: “Winchester Funeral Home and Services.” It’s not Dean’s dream or anything, but his doctors want his dad to supervise him and Sam’s away at college, so he makes the most of what he’s got. Dean minds his business and helps grieving families send their loved ones away one final time.
His path intersects with Castiel, a man who just moved to town to plan his estranged late brother’s funeral and raise his niece. It’s not the most appropriate place to make a connection, but Dean’s life is full of oddities and instability, so really who is he to question it?
