Summary
In 1925 New Orleans, Alastor has something almost unheard of: his own radio program.
He's young, Black, beautiful, and undeniably more talented than the white men competing for his microphone. Talent, however, was never enough to get him through the door. His three producers gave him the career he fought for, and in return, they treat their star host like something they own. Alastor has learned to endure their hands, their beds, and their demands with a smile, because the moment that red light turns on, the airwaves belong to him.
Then two new men enter the station.
Vincent Whitman is a wealthy, infuriatingly charming aspiring host who worshipped Alastor's work long before meeting him and seems completely oblivious to both his own growing attraction and the ugly reality behind Alastor's success.
Lucifer Morningstar is something else entirely: a legendary theater producer, obscenely wealthy, nearly forty, and immediately fascinated by the brilliant young man behind the microphone. Alastor assumes it's only a matter of time before Lucifer learns what the other producers expect from their “pet host” and decides he wants a turn.
