Morrigan woke in unfamiliar woods, and she did not panic. She refused to. There could be no benefit from that. She sat on the ground and took stock of herself. She was alone. She spared a thought to hope Kieran was safe. She had nothing but her clothes, but she was far from helpless. She could have woken in far worse locations. She might not know these woods, but she knew woodland and forest very well.
Rising to her feet, she chose a direction and walked. She continued until she heard voices, whereupon she pressed herself into the cover of the trees. There she beheld a group of men, armed and talking. She slipped further into shadows, not wishing to be seen.
