Chapter 1: "Normal Interaction"

Chapter Text

"Oh?..."

Ratthew walks back to the alleyway he currently stays in with a somewhat smug smirk on his face. Why is he so smug, you ask? He's just realized he can keep playfully pushing and flirting with Ron, and he wouldn't do nothin'.

Tonight was just yet another example of that.

[Earlier]

"Aw, c'mon Ronny.♡" The short rat looks up to Ron, his black fur shimmering in the moonlight, paperclips stuck in his fur and paperwork scattered everywhere. "You wouldn't let a little rat like me get in to trouble, would ya?"

"Ratthew!." Ron scowls, looking down at the mess the idiotic rat has created. He simply wanted to go get the irritating migraine he developed from all his late nights doing paperwork checked out, and was stuck dealing with this...guy. Ratthew wasn't just a "guy" but he could never possibly let that show. Except for on his face. And his body language. And his breathing. And his shaky voice. And sweaty palms. And his-

"So, whaddya say bunny boy? Let me off with a warning and a swat on the wrist?" The rat continued, looking deeper into Ron's eyes with a flirtatious gaze. His hands reached out to grab the bunny's tie and pull him closer. Because of course, after so long on the streets, not bearing to go home, Ratthew had forgotten personal space. And Ron valued his space very much, or maybe he just couldn't handle anything more.

"UGH. Don't- don't toy around with me." Ron's hands quickly swatted Ratthew's away, and quickly smoothed his tie back to a proper state, nothing less. "You need to stop searching. My paperwork is everywhere now, you make me lose my temper. There's even paperclips stuck in your fur. Do you even have personal hygiene?!" Ron's face slowly turned more and more red, from either embarassment or anger, (or both).

"Oh fine. You're no fun, y'know that? I guess I'll take my leave." Ratthew responds, picking at the clips stuck in his fur, not breaking eye contact with the beautiful blue bunny. On the other hand, Ron grew increasingly more nervous feeling Ratthew's eyes watching him. He wouldn't admit such a foolish thing, but even despite his height, the little rat was incredibly attractive. A perfectly symmetrical face, thick whiskers, strong eyes...

"W-what am I saying.." Ron mumbled, fixing his glasses. Ratthew perked up, smirking at him. "Did ya say something, Ronny? Speak up, don't be shy."

"Nevermind that! Just go already.." Ron was already looking away from embarassment. How could he be thinking that..? It must just be because he's Rattina's twin. Yes, that's it! Nothing more, or course, Ron was a perfect example and could never have such sinful tendencies. He watched from the corner of his eyes as the rat blew a kiss goodbye and crawled through the window, disappearing once again into the night.

It was just another normal interaction between the two, so why is it that each time Ron feels more and more... strange? He attempts to shake it off and lays back down into the hospital bed, which is a nice change from his stuffy office at work. He doesn't bother to clean up the papers scattered on the floor yet, although it was a safety hazard.

The new intern walks in, seemingly drained but greets Ron and sets up for treatment. He signs with his hands: 'You okay? Looks like a fever, you are oddly red today.'

Ron shakes his head and signs that he was just... hot. Had a long walk. It was his head that was the problem. (In two ways, physically and emotionally)

He can understand Intern from being taught sign language back in his school days, high expectations from his parents, which is why he could never have feelings for someone other than a girl.

After his treatment and his migraine finally feeling better, Ron takes the bus home, his thoughts still full of Ratthew. It irritated him, because he was such a... nuisance. Yes, that's why he couldn't get his mind off him. It was just pure annoyance. But in the corner of his eye, he could've sworn he saw a glimpse of Ratthew slipping into an alleyway.
