Work Text:
Can time wait just a bit more for me?
So I can gather my scattered brain,
And brace myself for the looming pain
That awaits when clocks run free?
I can hear the screeching of crows,
I can feel the touch of feathers,
And nothing hurts and nothing matters
When hours hold my hand and mutter vows.
Hold me like shattered glass
Watch me slip through your fingers
Turn into sand, the scent lingers,
Of chemicals and sleeping gas.
Let me go, save yourself, watch me wither
Leave me at the door and soar
A swan abandoning me to pour
Its tears into an hourglass, timeless river.
Soak in the Lethe, forget I ever was here,
Let minutes pass in the form of swallow flocks,
Reality is a castle built with wooden blocks,
The veil between past and future heavy but sheer.
