Summary
1931, London.
۶ৎ Twenty-two-year-old Sabine Rothchild has always lived a sheltered life, almost painfully innocent of the world beyond her little community—until a coven of wild, satanist vampires kidnaps her, turns her, and leaves her marked as one of the last surviving female vampires.
When she is left alone by them, she is recaptured by Aleksander Zaytsev, a massive, intimidating, grouchy vampire who has lived for 237 years. Sent to protect Sabine from the ancient Horde hunting her, Aleksander takes her to his remote castle in Northern Germany.
۶ৎ The Horde, a group of ancient vampires who have been alive for centuries, believes Sabine is destined to become their prince's Bride. But as winter closes around the castle, Sabine and Aleksander begin to discover something far more dangerous than prophecy: each other. She awakens feelings he buried centuries ago. He teaches her to embrace the strange new desires awakening inside her. And with the Horde drawing closer, their growing bond may be the one thing neither of them can afford.
