Chapter Text
"Angel!"
Sae turned around, and was met with a tight embrace.
He immediatly pushed the demon off him.
"Where have you been, demon?" Sae scoffed, brushing off imaginary dust from his garment.
"Was making a boy lie about his homework." Ryusei grinned. "Damn, he was good."
"Mhm. What else?"
"Man cheated on his wife. She looked spectacular, too." Ryusei muttered, rolling his eyes heavenward.
Like Sae, he too, did not understand the ways of men.
"Is that so?" Sae asked, raising one unimpressed eyebrow.
He was interested, though.
At the end of each day, he and his demon would simply sit and talk about their day, informing the other of their activities.
Though, majority of the time, his demon's day would be more interesting.
Sae had to make sure people didn't make mistakes — he was a guardian angel, of some sort.
And Ryusei Shidou did quite the opposite of his duty.
He made people sin. After all, he was a sinner himself. One of the worst demon's to ever live. One of the most powerful.
A fallen angel, Sae reminded himself.
And Sae understood it, too. Angels were usually 'soft' beautifully made creatures. Though Ryusei wasn't soft like that of the appearance of Sae — he was beautiful.
One of the most beautiful Sae had ever seen in his life. Which, was a very long period of time.
Demon's make themselves beautiful to deceive humans.
But Sae had always wondered why Ryusei was to survive on earth for these fools. He was much powerful — Sae knew. One of the most powerful celestial beings ever seen.
After all, Sae had fought with him. He was one of Satan's acquaintances. So why here, on earth?
Perhaps Satan was afraid he would come to his senses. Perhaps he was afraid that Ryusei Shidou would one day come to know his worth and overpower him.
But Ryusei showed no qualities as to that of a ruler. Sae didn't think he would be interested, even if the offer was served to him on a silver platter.
He wouldn't care.
But if Sae told him....
He would do it. Sae knew. Ryusei always did whatever Sae wished.
It wasn't like Sae took advantage of him. He just hoped he wouldn't offer himself to a fool who would.
And another reason Sae refused to admit.
He was not going to lie — Ryusei made him feel special. Special in all the ways he wasn't. Perfect in the way no one ever could be.
But why was Sae so afraid to lose him if he wasn't even his?
Sae did not know the reason.
