”I am… watching over you, you could say,” Castiel explains. He looks and sounds annoyed about it, like it’s not a job he would’ve picked himself. “Heaven has assigned me to your care and keeping. You were going to be killed. I have prevented it.”
Dean shakes his head, his heart pounding in his ears. “That’s fucking crazy. You’re telling me I have a… a guardian angel or something?”

20 year old Dean nearly dies during a solo hunt. Heaven sends an emissary to prevent it. Castiel, none too pleased with the job, believes that will be the end of his interactions with his young charge. Dean has other plans.
