Summary
Escaping the chaos of London and a painful breakup, Lando Norris accepts a job restoring the ceiling frescoes at St. Mary’s Parish in Richmond. He simply wanted a quiet place to work and clear his head, but the church’s peaceful routine soon takes on a new dimension with the presence of Father Oscar Piastri.
Young and deeply dedicated to the priesthood, Oscar lives a life governed by duty and clearly defined boundaries. However, the painter’s arrival disrupts the order he spent years building. Lando’s laughter, the paints scattered across the nave, and the ease with which he disarms the priest’s guarded demeanor begin to foster an unsettling yet inevitable closeness.
As the weeks go by, the church feels too small to contain what emerges with every lingering glance and late-afternoon conversation. Caught between the fear of crossing a point of no return and the urgency of a desire neither can suppress, they discover that the relief they sought might lie in the very thing that once seemed untouchable.
