And I saw sparks

Summary:

After drinking with Amber, Legs runs into Lukey.

Work Text:

Legs' vision fuzzed around the edges as the recall spell pulled him back to the Main Hall of the Academy, a small laugh escaping him from Amber's parting comment as he left the cliff overlooking Juniper's safehouse. The last time they had drank together hadn't been nearly as… joyful in content, so it was a nice change.

There was the distant knowledge of a pounding headache coming in tomorrow, but that was the last thing on his mind as Legs managed to somewhat steadily make his way out of the Main Hall and towards the Feles dorm. He had no idea how long he and Amber were out at the safehouse, time becoming an irrelevant concept to him, but he was tired.

He actually wanted to sleep for once.

Maybe the alcohol would keep him from the dreams.

He couldn't remember dreaming the last time he and Amber drank.

Hm.

"Legs?"

Legs turned around a bit too fast, his vision swimming slightly before clearing up (for the most part).

The voice had been Lukey, who was behind him in the hallway.

Lukey, whose hair was a bit messier than usual, making him look very cute. His dark grey-blue eyes reflected the torchlight from the sconces that lined most of the Academy, which didn't help with his prettiness.

Why was he so pretty?

"Oh heyyy Lukey," Legs waved, grinning.

He opened his mouth to speak before pausing, biting back a smile. "…Are you drunk?"

"…Mayb' just a little." He paused before giggling.

Legs wasn't sure what to call the look that came across Lukey's face, most intelligent words escaping him in his current state.

After a moment, he sighed, though his tone was light. "Alright, let's get you back to your room."

They were already close to Feles, and Legs' room was on the ground floor, so the journey wasn't far or difficult, but Legs kept tripping over his own feet, nearly falling over on several occasions.

"You're really clumsy," Lukey commented as the turned into the hallway that contained Legs' room, the lavender plants left by Juniper still crowding up most of the walking space.

"I'm fine," Legs insisted, opening the door to his room and nearly tripping over the threshold on his way in.

Lukey caught him by the arm, preventing him from faceplanting into the floor. "I might regret asking, but how much have you had to drink?"

"Mmmm not much," Legs murmured, straightening slightly. "A few glasses of wine with Amber. Oh and Pyro gave me whiskey earlier."

He barked out a laugh "Oh, so you're wasted, I see."

"I am not," The way Legs' words slurred slightly did not help his case in any way. " Jus'a little tipsy."

Lukey closed the door behind him. "You should probably drink some water and go to bed. I think I still have ibuprofen from Violet in my room, so I can get you some tomorrow."

Normally, Legs would've been listening. He liked listening to Lukey; his voice was nice.

But his face was prettier.

Legs stepped closer to him, reaching out to cup Lukey's face and tilt it to the side slightly. He had a few moles scattered across the side of his face and down his neck, like pinpricks of ink on his skin, standing out in the warm light of the room.

He was so pretty that it was stupid. Him and his pretty face and pretty eyes and pretty smile and it was all so stupid and unfair.

"…Hi?" Lukey raised his eyebrows at him, one of his hands resting on Legs' wrist, but not pulling his hand away, his thumb brushing against his pulse.

"You have a pretty, stupid face."

"…Ow?"

Legs cleared his throat. "No, that's not— your face is so pretty that it's stupid–no that doesn't sound right either, fuck," he groaned, pulling one of his hands away to rub the side of his face. "You know what, I take it back, you're just pretty."

Lukey blinked a few times, staring at Legs. His mouth opened, as if he was going to say something, before promptly shutting again.

Legs bit back a smile before giggling slightly. "You look so confused."

"…Yeah that's… That's a word for it, sure." Lukey nodded. "Has anyone told you that you're really chatty when you drink?"

"'s that a bad thing?"

"…Not at all."

Legs' thumb brushed against Lukey's cheek, his gaze still on his face, on the moles scattered on his skin.

"I like your spots," he murmured, lips brushing against Lukey's cheek, over one of his moles. "They're nice."

Lukey's face flushed. "I…" he swallowed. "Thank you."

Legs giggled, leaning closer and pressing his forehead against Lukey's shoulder. He could feel Lukey exhale shakily before speaking.

"You should go to bed."

"…Yeahhh, 'm tired."
