AJ rolled her eyes with a fondness she would most definitely deny when Flick questioned her again. “Sure you are,” she leaned forward, resting her chin on her hand. “Would a kiss make it better?”
Or: The driftsey reunion but different. I make them acknowledge their feelings, and they get together for real this time.

For a moment, Abolish felt like a child again, being scolded for acting rashly on a mission. The wounds on his back ached, a dull, deep throb. He was exhausted. He didn’t want to stand stoically through a lecture about the consequences of his actions. He clutched the foreign anger in his chest and wielded it like a sword.

'They say every 200 years there's a massacre'.
Did their time in Oakhurst count as a massacre? The body count was pathetic, really, compared to the numbers he alone had caused in the past. But maybe it wasn't the number that had mattered. The percentage, perhaps. So few had died, but so few had been there to die in the first place. It was too vague. Too uncertain. And Scott was thinking about it again when he had promised himself he was not going to.

Its 2025, and 200 years have passed since Scott, Shelby and Drift walked out of Oakhurst. They've been going back every year to visit since, so it shouldn't be any different this time. If they ignore the curse, that is. Which was Scott's plan, until Abolish reveals he's still alive and is going to be going with them to Oakhurst this time. And when they get there, Cleo and Pearl have bad news. It seems danger is still coming for Oakhurst. And it's wearing a friend's face.
