   Summary

Perhaps in another life his story ended there; the bullet clean through his brain before his body is torn to shreds by hunting dogs. But by some twist of fate, or stroke of dumb luck, he turned, and the bullet grazed his shoulder.
   And time marches inevitably on.

   -

Alastor, Voice of New Orleans and Bayou Butcher, reflects on his long and lonely life.
At least, it used to be lonely.
(One shot: short drabble, character study, fluff and angst with a happy ending)
