Anya looks at him like he’s the stupidest person she’s met in the last century. “What are you doing with Buffy?”
Spike takes another drag from the cigarette as he considers. He and Buffy have been living together for two weeks now, long enough that it all almost feels routine. They patrol together and split the cost of meals at 24 hour diners. They shag, obviously. They tell each other I love you, and it still feels miraculous every single time. They remind each other to do things like eat and sleep and charge their phones and pick towels up off the floor. A couple days ago they went to the laundromat and just chatted about their opinions on various reality television shows until the clothes were done. But they haven’t discussed what to call any of that; it just is. He finally lands on: “I’m doing a lot of things with Buffy.”
Anya does not look satisfied with this answer.
