The big family plans to go picnic on the upcoming weekend. So, today, after Minho picked Yongbok up from school, they decided to find options of places the family can choose from. They went to the Han River, Seoul Forest and now they are at Olympic Park, and Yongbok instantly runs around the spacious field. Minho asks her to be careful, then she takes a picture or two so she can send to the family group chat. Yongbok stops running and looks at the whole space, she seems happy with this option, so she turns around to tell that to her mother.
"Mama, I think this-"
Her words and smile disappear right away. She sees her mother talk to a guy. A very familiar, musculin guy.
"Nam Gilseong? I'm sorry I don't..." Minho tries to remember the guy when he greeted her but nothing comes to mind. He chuckles, blush covers his cheeks and ears.
"Of course, you don't know my name. I didn't get to introduce myself back then" he mumbles, caressing the back of his head before he adds "you almost hit me with a bag of meatballs a couple months ago"
Minho blinks, trying to remember if she ever got into a fight recently. She holds herself better when she is pregnant, so who is this guy talking about? In about a split second, she remembers right away and she gasps.
"Oh, the rude Bob the Builder!" Minho claims. A few months ago, Gilseong cut the queue at a supermarket and Minho threatened him to go back in line with a packet of meatballs in her hand. Minho was afraid as well because he was double her size but her tactic somehow worked. She immediately bows as a greeting and he bows back. A smile on his face shows how he is happy that she remembers him.
"Actually, I've been looking for you for a while now. I would like to apologize for my rude behavior and probably treat you with something as an apology" he says with confidence, with both hands behind his back like a proper invitation. The mother and the daughter share the same reaction, widened eyes and slightly taken aback by his honesty. Minho can't help but chuckle, a coping mechanism to her panic and discomfort.
"Oh, there's no need. I have a-" before she can reject politely, Gilseong interrupts.
"Husband? Yeah, I know. I don't mind. I can beat him" he shrugs. Yongbok makes a dramatic gasp just to stir the drama while Minho stuns in her spot. Her brows almost furrowed together but she manages to control it.
"Sorry?" She asks, a bit firmer than before. He shows no sign of guilt as he explains further, shamelessly.
"The nerd next to you back then is your husband, right? Well, he is not even good looking, he looks like a human-paper, a total nerd, nothing compares to you. So, I think I have a bigger chance with you if I beat him" he says, clasping his hands at the front now, as if he tries to prove something. Yongbok gasps again, this time with panic in her eyes. She immediately looks at her mother and sees the lady is already sending a death glare. Oh no.
"How dare you say things like that about my husband?" The frown on her forehead is no longer hidden and she takes a step forward, startling the guy.
"S-Sorry?" Gilseong gets slightly panic but still trying to put it together. In the meantime, Yongbok holds Minho's hand with both of her tiny hands to calm her down.
"Mama, happy thoughts. Happy thoughts" she tries to calm her mother down. Minho ignores that, and she scolds the stranger guy, with a louder voice this time.
"I know he's ugly and nerd and thin like a paper!"
"...Eh?" Yongbok is dumbfounded by the statement. Minho seems serious, though, because shortly after, she adds.
"But he's MY ugly, MY nerd, and MY human-paper! No one can talk shit about him except me. You clear on that?!" Minho acts like she wants to punch the guy but no one flinches at the tiny fist.
"Let's go, sweetheart" she pulls her little girl with her and walks away, there is a subtle pout on her face which proves that she is mad. Gilseong is just as speechless as Yongbok, he needs literally a minute to process the whole rejection before he gets himself together again.
"Hey, what is so special about him that I don't have?!" He shouts. Minho stops abruptly and Yongbok almost stumbles to the ground because of that. She looks at her mother, and the latter looks extremely pissed off. Yongbok sees her clenching her jaw and closing her eyes to calm down.
"Sh- Kim Seungmin is not even special, what do I tell him...?" She mumbles under her breath.
....ha? Yongbok is dumbfounded again. By that time, Minho turns around to send Gilseong one final glare before she answers.
"He is him" she says, proud and clear. "You are nothing against my Kim Seungmin"
Yongbok gasps in true amazement. Now that sounds like her mother and she understands better. Minho loves to act tsundere anyway, of course she needs to act like she doesn't like her husband at all by saying those unnecessary statements. When they leave with Yongbok teasing Minho, the mother just mumbles 'that was just an excuse, don't believe it' while having a pink blush on her face.

Bonus :
"Why are you so not special?" Minho suddenly asks during dinner, where Seungmin brought home Subway sandwiches after arriving home from work. Yongbok almost chokes her egg mayo sandwich when she laughs at the question between her chews.
Seungmin is speechless by the question. He stares at his wife that sits across from him on the dining table, but in just a split second, a smile cracks on his lips when he sees the joking intention through her eyes although she looks like she is annoyed. He melts. He just loves how that is the way Minho gives him her love.
"The fact that I'm so not special is what makes me special" he answers proudly, offering his takeaway cup of soda to her like he is offering a cheer. Yongbok replies with a long 'ooh~' and gives her father a thumbs up. Minho makes a 'tch' sound, like she despise his existence, then she focuses on her steak cheese sandwich again.
It takes the family less than 3 minutes to start the topic again.
"Am I really not special? Is there nothing special about me?" Seungmin asks suddenly, but instead of sounding like he is insecure, he sounds playful; as if he is trying to say that Minho is not looking at him properly. Minho looks up, instantly eye-locking with her husband and her body goes stiff right away, mesmerized.
Seungmin stares back with the softest gaze, the smile he tries to hide makes the corners of his lips lifted ever so slightly. Adding up with his undone, fluffy hair, he looks absolutely like a puppy. Even his blinks are slower than usually, as if he is pressing shutter to his memory camera, capturing the view that mesmerized him as well. At last, he smiles fondly and tilts his head, waiting for an answer.
Minho gets lost in his eyes, face is covered in blush and the tilt brings her back to reality. She immediately clears her throat and creates a silly answer to stop the heart-fluttering moment. Seungmin can see that through her eyes too.
"Okay, I know what makes you special now" she sounds confidence, imitating Detective Conan. Before Seungmin can point out her mischievousness, she points her finger towards him first.
"You're going to spit nonsense, aren't y-"
"The mole next to your ear!"
