“...So you think I'm a good mentor?”
There is a hint of surprise in the baritone voice. And god, that strong hand never left.
“Well- yeah. I mean- of course.”
“Carter, I am perfectly aware of who I am. And I know I'm a good teacher, but being a good mentor is much different.”
The younger desperately wants to look into Benton's cold, dark eyes. The ones that shoot lasers at him when he gets a medication dosage wrong. The ones that look at him menacingly when he is talking too much and Peter is sick of him. But also the ones that flickered with warmth in the OR when he made the life-saving find of the renal lac. And maybe, just maybe, a hint of admiration.
But all he has is his presence, right in front of him. And the delicious burn of his delicate fingers on his waist.
OR: Carter and Benton get it on in an elevator, deprived of their vision (temporarily)
