Cv1t hadn't meant to find a hole, What it had been doing was grabbing more of the metal scattered throughout the mountain in the area it was told to defend. Make the area look even less interesting to keep people out
But as it got distracted walking to the next chunk, it's old rusty legs got caught, and before it could react it was tripping down a 5-6 block hole or is it a tunnel, cave?
It's eyes blurred at the movement, disorienting it for a terrifying few seconds before it could readjust properly. Frick, this was bad, really bad! What if this was a trap?!
Something caught It's eyes and it spun around to face the way deeper with one hand hovering it's gun
Movement? Or was it just seeing things in the dark like always? Get it together Cv1t!
No, it was real. It saw a small move in the darkness, just out of the light enough to not get a clear view
If it strained its audio processors it could just make out something faint, a wheeze of sorts? Was there a human here!? No no, it was too.. mechanical, so another bot? Gods if this was that stupid one that kept claiming they saved it so help it
Cv1t should just leave, block up and set up defenses, maybe tell Him about this and let him deal with it. But something deep in it pulled, something old and worn
So against its better judgment, it called out "Who's their." It didn't try to hide its anger whatever was down there
After so long ticked by with no response it called again, impatience dripping in it's tone "If you don't tell I'll come find out myself, and I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty" Maybe the threat would work? If it was another defect that knew what was good for them it should
Nothing again, and it's patience snapped, it was in no mood for games, this was not a game it was playing
Cv1t hesitated for a moment before reminding itself to not show fear, instead pulling its sword out and walks forward, one slow step at a time
As it drew near, it could make out the shape of a person, thought seemingly curled up with no weapon it could actively scan
Finally it's eyes adjusted to the darkness and it could make out what it was looking at, and it wasn't what it was expecting
Instead of the red headed bot, it was the Chrysalis employee it always bumped into. The nameless employee it had talked to maybe a bit too much
Odd, what was he doing down here? The employee didn't sleep from what it's seen, never taken a break though it doubts he would even need one
So why was the android here? And why was it making those distressing sounds?
"Uhh, hello?" It tried, slowly putting its sword back as it moved closer. The employee startled..? That's not right? This whole thing was off to him
Watching carefully, it leaned down slightly to get a better look at him as the android tilted his head up "Y- ... you?" That voice wasn't the employees usual flat joy, it sounded almost.. wet? Like choking on something that's just not there
Cv1t didn't comment on the weird voice, instead tilting its head to the side slightly "Yes, me. Why are you down here? Aren't you meant to stay patrolling kloro key?"
It waited for one of the employees normal answers, but it never got one. All it got was the androids eyes tracing the metal of its face like it contained the answer
It stood straight, a bit shocked he never answered its question at all "Are you- What the hell is wrong with you?" It was getting a bit frustrated with the silence the employee was giving it
The android stared at it for longer and it nearly walked away before it just barely heard him speaking "I- I'm not programmed to think or feel" well it's heard that all before but hearing it again only made it more pissed that it didn't shot that CEO where he had stood a few days ago
"I alrea- " it was cut off by the employee "I am not programmed too yet why do i feel? Why do i think?" The employees tone rose as he spoke, panicked
Cv1t stood completely still for a second, just processing the works the android below him said
He... He could feel, he could think. But how? How could this Chrysalis employee do what it was made not to do? Unless..
There was no way.. right? No way it could of-
It could of defected..
Cv1t stared into his eyes and the android stared back. It's normally dull eyes held something far too complex, far too real
He really had, hadn't he
It stood in a cave, staring into the eyes of a newly defected, a newly freed. And it just knew it had to protect this poor scared bot
Knew it had been given another purpose besides the chase, besides the thrill of a kill
"I'll explain anything you need to know, but let's get out of here first, ok bud?"
