Fictional war AU.
Mamoru Shiraishi (1146) has spent his life preparing for war. Akane Mizuno (AE3803) has devoted hers to preserving life.
Neither expects an injury at Hoshikawa Base to bring them together.
Yet somewhere between stubborn patients and persistent nurses, shared books and starlit wishes, military drills and stolen moments, their lives begin to intertwine. And while Mamoru finds an unexpected family among the soldiers beside him, Akane gives him something his training never prepared him to fight for... A future beyond the battlefield.
But war with Shūnan is approaching.
And when the time comes for Mamoru to leave on deployment, both of them must discover whether love can endure distance and uncertainty, as well as a tide neither of them can control.
