Work Text:
Orphea sat on the grass, back against a tree, an engraved ritual stone in her lap, a ritual knife in her hand, and a necklace in her pocket. Carefully, she made a small slice, and let the blood fall.
Patrona appeared out of the mist, as ever. Orphea offered her a seated bow.
She spoke before Patrona could. She wanted to get this right.
“My lady, my lord, my patron, I have an offering for you.” She held out the necklace, and Patrona took it.
“It was a gift,” she explained. “For defending that town. As it was your power that granted me that ability, I thought it was only right to make you this offering.”
Patrona smiled. “I accept your offering,” she said, and lifted Orphea’s hand to her lips, kissing it before she vanished again.
