Scott needs allies, and not in the way that others need allies — no, he needs them in the sense that if he doesn’t have them nobody (not the person) will want to associate with him in the near future. He winces a sharp pain shoots up his spine, as if something is trying to escape his skin. Well, I suppose there is, he sighs.
Maybe he should try to talk to Shelby and Drift? That could be a good team-up, since they also seem to be allies with a few others. Him and Nikos are already allies, mostly, but it would be good to strengthen that bond. As well as allying with Abolish; that man definitely seems to know what he’s doing. Plus, Scott just… There’s something different about Abolish. Almost inhuman, and considering Scott is here it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise if someone else was supernatural.
“There you are,” a voice makes him turn his head, automatically smiling when he sees the man he was just thinking about - Abolish. What a strange coincidence.
“Oh, hey, Abolish!” He chirps, standing up from where he was sat by the river, a little surprised the other found him considering how shrouded by nature the area is. In fact, he did that on purpose to make sure he had some alone time… “Were you looking for me?” He lets a teasing, friendly smirk appear on his face.
“I was,” Abolish hums. “Can I sit?” In lieu of a verbal answer, Scott gestures to the grass beside him, allowing the other champion to take a seat. “What are you doing, hiding from everyone? I would've thought an entertainer like you would love being seen.” Trying to hide the fact my glamour is slowly dropping, Scott doesn't say.
“Everything still gets a little bit overwhelming,” Scott shrugs, turning to look back at the scenic river, sun sparkling against water in a way that makes him squint his eyes. “Even us performers need a break, yes? Although, everyone probably enjoys having such pretty men around.” Scott looks over, purposefully putting on a flirtatious expression, although the other simply smiles slyly instead of blushing or showing any physical sign of interest.
“You certainly are gorgeous, although I personally prefer the term handsome,” Abolish teases back. For the first time in… His entire life, maybe, Scott feels a genuine blush appear on his cheeks, not one that he forced to trick or manipulate gullible men. If he didn't have an audience (even of only one) he might've allowed the horror to last more than a second. For the moment, however, he shoves the thoughts and feelings down.
“Might I ask why you were looking for me?” Scott pivots, cringing internally at how obvious it was. Still, he doesn't look back over at Abolish, hoping if he acts casual the other will play along. Surprisingly, the plan works.
“I have a feeling Nikos will be going in today, probably with Apo. If he does, will you uphold your promise to give him wind charges?”
“Of course!” Scott asks, tone bordering on offended. “I said I would, didn't I?” Abolish chuckles, deep but carefree, and Scott mentally slaps himself when he starts thinking disgusting thoughts about how nice he sounds.
“I should've known. Fae always keep their deals, don't they?”
Scott’s blood runs cold, finally looking over at the man(?) next to him. This time, he notices something… New. Abolish’s pupils are slits, similar to cat’s, or a lizard, or a-
“Dragon,” Scott mutters, shock and worry weaving its way under his skin.
“You're not the only inhuman thing around here, pretty changeling,” Abolish's voice drops to a purr, although something more akin to a growl rumbles in his chest. Fear, the first he’s felt since the day he died, shoots down Scott's spine.
“I feel bad for whoever has to fight you,” he mutters without thinking, blushing from embarrassment when the other laughs. “Whatever. It's not like you can win against me.” No being besides gods are immune to mind control, Scott reminds himself, nor the powers Scott gains by transforming.
Like an asshole, Abolish laughs in his face again. “I suppose we'll have to see on the battlefield, won't we?” Abolish stands up turning to go, and Scott simply can't help himself when he calls out;
“Bye, handsome dragon~”
“See ya, pretty changeling.” Then, he's gone, along with the warmth he seems to carry with him. Like a lovesick puppy, Scott suddenly misses that warmth.
Oh, I'm so fucked.
