Peter's eyes open slowly, as if waking up from a good dream. Why is she talking about herself in the third person? Is this a cute MJ moment…

As Peter starts to pull back, MJ says in a soft tone that is more sinister than loving, “That's all you can do now.”
Peter feels a chill down his spine. He looks into her eyes, but he doesn't see his MJ. He sees someone else; his spider senses start to tingle.
MJ smirks, but it doesn't feel that endearing. “You really are such a simple spider…”
In a flash, MJ’s lips are against his. But this kiss isn't affectionate or gentle. It is not even passionate. It is clumsy, like the person kissing him is inexperienced, yet determinedly dominating.
