Summary
After what happened at Korolevskiy Theater, things went back to normal, as normal as they could make it to be. They don’t have a choice. The world does not stop moving on its axis simply because they experienced the Curse of Death momentarily.
Alyosha goes back to his usual routine of hunting and working part-time at the theater. And as normal as any day in Snezhnaya, week-long blizzards storm by to set him back a few paces, leaving him short of budget. While trying to scrounge enough money, he meets Mitya a couple of times. To be fair, they haven’t talked much before, if they had at all. But Mitya seems to be acting weird around him, and when Alyosha goes to his house one day to deliver a gift from Vodyanitsa, he is met by an attack.
