Christmas cookies

Summary:

The friendgroup decides to hang out and bake Christmas cookies together.

After everyone goes home, Chad gets stuck at the Evans's house due to a snow storm.

Notes:

Look at me posting a Christmas fic during summer. Wow I'm so cool and unique.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

It has started to snow outside.

Every year during the first winter snow the Evans's go out on a winter trip somewhere.

It has been like a tradition for them, to always go somewhere, wherever it was skiing, spa day or a fly to a more tropical country.

But this year Ryan didn't feel like going. He loved his family and the time they spend together, but he also wanted to share some time with his friends.

It was the perfect winter weather outside. There were at least 10 inches of snow, covering the frozen grass surface. And the snowing didn't stop.

"Ryan! Sharpay!"

Ryan was standing all the way in the kitchen, looking outside the windows, yet he still heard his mom's voice coming from upstairs. He turned around to see his mom running down the stairs, looking all excited.

"Wanna go somewhere today? We could go skiing, snowboarding, or just relax at some winter resort!"

She was in her usual happy mood. He really didn't want to let his mom down, she's probably gonna be a little sad but he knew she would get over it quickly.

"Oh I wanna go skiing!" Screamed Sharpay excitedly from the living room.

"Alright skiing it is! Where do you wanna go ducky?"
She now turned her attention to Ryan, jogged a little towards him so she could hear him better.

"Sorry mom but I don't feel like going anywhere today. Maybe next week?"

He could see his mother's face drop a little, before picking it back up, but furrowing her eyebrows into a sad line.

"Are you sure, Ry? Are you okay? Do you feel sick?"
"No mom im fine, I'm just not in the mood"

His mom and Sharpay left a little after that.

Packed all of the stuff they needed for skiing and took off. The last thing Ryan heard after they already said goodbye and closed the room on him was

"Is daddy not coming with us?"
"No darling he has an important business trip today..."

And then silence. He had the mansion for himself.
He sighed and looked through the window again. He then instinctively reached for his phone.
It was the perfect time to bake some Christmas cookies with someone, but who? Ryan immediately thought of Chad. But he was afraid that inviting Chad alone would not be the best idea. So he went to the groupchat Gabriella created a month or so ago, after the summer, and typed in a message.

"Hello everyone. My parents and Sharpay are out and I'm really in the mood for some Christmas cookies. Does anyone wanna come??"

His phone started buzzing just a few seconds after he sent the message.

"I'm sure in the mood for cookies too!" - Gabriella

"If Gaby's going then I'd gladly join" - Troy

"Of course man! I'll be there in 10!" - Chad

"I don't have anything better to do and cookies do sound nice" - Taylor

Chad arrived to the Evans's residence first. In his new fancy looking car, with the shiny red color that Ryan recognized anywhere.

"Hey, Ry!"
Chad already yelled in his direction while getting out of the car, Ryan was standing in the doorframe already, prepared.

"Hi Chad, come in."

And he did, he also brought some baking ingredients with him, how generous.

Once they were at the kitchen counter, Chad layed out all of the ingredients he brought.

"Are we gonna follow any specific recipe, or?"
He gave Ryan a knowing look with a half smile.
"No, I think we're just gonna throw random stuff in the bowl and mix it"
Ryan completed the smile with his other half.
Chad chuckled just a little bit to himself before continuing on
"Well we won't be able to do that, Taylor will be here to torment us."

Ryan giggled. Chad was right, Taylor will one hundred percent want to follow some five star rated recipe.

"My house, my rules, we get to do whatever we want here as long as we clean up the mess afterwards."

"Oh like exploding the microwave?"

They started putting all the ingredients they thought they needed to make cookies on the kitchen counter.

"I don't think we'll need a microwave while baking cookies, Danforth"
"You never know, Evans"
He spit back his last name with a smile on his face.

After around another 5 minutes, everyone started pulling up in front of the Evans's house.

Gabriella and Troy together in Troy's truck.
Taylor on foot, she lived much closer to the Evans's than anyone else in their class did.

They all eventually gathered in the kitchen. After Ryan has greeted everyone and showed them around.

Turns out Troy and Gabriella actually combined their money to buy sprinkles for the cookies, green and red with a few snowmen here and there.

Taylor hasn't brought any ingredient, what she came with was much more useful and needed for the group, she brought her own step by step Christmas cookies recipe.

"What would we do without you" commented Chad after Taylor pulled out the long recipe that was written on what seemed like an old scrunched paper.

"I'm a crucial part of this group. That's why I come to almost every hang out. Without me, or Gabriella, things would fall apart."

Gabriella's giggle came across from the other part of the big kitchen, she was standing hip to hip with Troy, who just seemed happy to hang out with his friends and girlfriend.

Taylor definitely had a point though.

"Yeah the last time we hung out without Taylor Chad almost got hit by a car." Said Ryan and snapped a look in Chad's direction, who just gave him a fake offended stare.

"Hey not my fault the driver was an asshole."

Taylor was the leader of the group, usually ordering others around, telling them what to do and if she didn't like what they did she would take it into her own hands.

Gabriella started by scrambling the eggs and mixing them with flour. Troy was not very helpful, he stood next to Gabriella, just staring at her, occasionally he landed a hand when someone else needed help.

Chad was cutting up the chocolate into small pieces because nobody remembered to buy chocolate chips.

Most of the time Ryan was telling his friends where the ingredients are.

"Hey I'm almost done here!" Yelled Gabriella behind her to inform Taylor.

"Great! What about the chocolate?" She snapped her neck to the opposite part of the kitchen, where Chad and Ryan stood.

"All good. Probably will be done in around 5 minutes." Chad announced it as proud as ever.

"That's just the first half." Ryan tried to not laugh.
Chad's head turned towards him, disbelief written all over his face. His mouth opened to say something, but then he let it go and just sighed instead.

"I'm done! What now?" Said Gabriella just a minute or two after her last statement.

"Wait wait! Nobody move, this would be a cute picture!"
"Seriously?" Chad whined but to no avail. Gabriella already took out her phone and tried a few different angles before finding the perfect one.
Nobody moved.

"And done!!" Everyone could move and breathe again.

After another ten minutes Chad and Ryan were finishing up the second half of chocolate chips.

Meanwhile everyone else went to relax on the giant couch that the Evans's owned.

Ryan gave them permission to go chill out somewhere, because Chad and him still needed to turn a few full sized chocolate bars into small chocolate chips.
And he didn't want his friends to just stand around the kitchen waiting for Ryan and Chad to finish up.

They were left alone in the kitchen, only hearing quiet giggles and loud thuds coming from the living room. He really hoped his friends didn't break anything, luckily Taylor was there, and he could for sure trust her. Not like he doesn't trust his other friends but Taylor is for sure the most responsible one.

"I should've bought some chocolate chips, chopping up chocolate is atrocious." Said Ryan, who was cutting up chocolate next to Chad who was doing the same with a different chocolate bar.

"This is what you get for going into this blind"
"This is what WE get for going into this blind"

They both looked at each other at the same time, catching each others eyes. They both quickly looked away, again at the exact same time. Awkward laugh filled the silence in the air.

"I think I'm done." Announced Ryan, looking over at Chad's chocolates. They were far from done.

"Think? You're either done or you're not."

"Okay let me redo that. I'm done."
"Good. I'm not."

"I've noticed. Maybe if you spend less time talking and staring at me you would be done already." Ryan was washing his hands while he said that, couldn't see Chad's face.

"Yeah right."

"Need help or?" Ryan asked.

"How? I'm already halfway done."

"I can show you how to cut it properly, Danforth."

Before Chad could even reply Ryan was already next to him. Putting one hand on the chocolate bar and the other on Chad's hand which was wrapped around a sharp knife.

Chad opened his mouth for a bit before quickly closing it again.

"You just have to chop chop chop"

Ryan was actively commenting while he was cutting the chocolate in little pieces fast.

"If I knew how to chop so fast I would do so."

"I guess you just have to practice more."

"Are you inviting me to another baking date, Evans?"

"Maybe." Replied Ryan, still side by side with Chad. He looked at Chad, had to tilt his head up just a little bit.

Chad looked back at him. They were just inches apart.

Ryan looked down at Chad's lips. Neither of them were cutting up the chocolate anymore.

Chad was the quickest to start leaning down towards Ryan.

"Hey you guys! Are you done already? It's been like 15 minutes."

They pulled apart really fast.
Ryan jumped a little to the side, separating himself from Chad entirely. Right after that Troy leaned in to look in the kitchen.

"Yeah man we're almost done! I'm just finishing this last chocolate bar."

"Perfect then. I'll go tell others that we can continue."

They all once again met in the kitchen. Taylor and Gabriella put the chocolate chips that Chad cut into the bowl with batter.

Gabriella started stirring it.
She stopped stirring. And turned her eyes to Troy.
"Don't you wanna mix it? I think I did enough of mixing in the ingredients." She wasn't mad though. Her smile gave away that she just wanted Troy to be a part of the baking as well.

"Sure. Don't be mean to me if I'm not as good as it as you."

"Dude it's just stirring. You couldn't possibly be bad at that." Jumped in Chad in between Troy's and Gabriella's conversation.
Troy laughed awkwardly, nervously even.

Troy was mixing everything while Gabriella was lightheartedly teasing him.

They finally put the cookies in the oven. They set the temperature for the number that the recipe recommended. After that they needed to wait 20 minutes.

All of them went to sit at the Evans's couch.

Gabriella was leaning her head on Troy's shoulder while he leaned his head on her head.

Chad and Ryan sat next to each other, their legs were slightly touching, but neither of them pulled away.

Their conversation very much consistented of talking about Christmas preparation, their next hang outs, and of course winter musical auditions.

"No this time I'll for sure get the lead role." Argued Ryan to Troy's statement about auditioning for the male lead. Troy would have to do the solo auditions, because Gabriella is busy with her science club.

Ryan also wanted to try out the solo auditions, even though Sharpay would probably freak out and command him to do a pairs audition with her instead.

"We'll have to see then." Replied Troy with a smug smile. Hell, probably both Ryan and Troy knew he didn't stand a chance against an Evans.

Sure last time Troy and Gabriella got the roles instead of Ryan and Sharpay. But the Evans's were still way better than them.

Chad threw his hand around Ryan and scoffed
"I think we all know, you, show brat, will get whatever role you want."

"Not my fault I'm so great at it."

Beep
Beep
Beep

The oven started beeping, echoing through their ears until it got annoying. Everyone got up from their seats, but Taylor was the first one to actually open the oven, hence stoping the alarm.

"Gosh your oven's annoying."
Said Chad, his stare still lingering on the oven.

"I know trust me."

Gabriella grabbed some kitchen gloves and put the tray on the nearest counter. Everyone turned around to look at the cookies, before looking at Taylor, to check if they looked as they should have.

Taylor nodded in approval. All of them smiled. Gabriella even mimicked the motion to herself, nodding her head slightly. Proud of herself.

After like two minutes of chatting and adding a few last touches to the cookies, Chad recklessly reached out his hand for one of the cookies on the tray, with the biggest frosting, and put it in his mouth with one bite.

All of them turned to him. Taylor and Ryan screamed "Chad don't!" But it was already too late.
Chad yelped when he put the cookie in his mouth in one big bite.

"Gosh why did no one tell me cookies took so look to cool down?"

"They were just in the oven two minutes ago man what did you except?" Troy said. "Even I know that."

After that they hung out for a little around two hours. Chatting and having fun. Gabriella also took a few pictures. They even watched a short Christmas movie while sitting in the Evans's living room, eating their cookies. They actually turned out pretty well.

After all that everyone packed up, took a few of the cookies into a box, and left.

Except for Chad.

He stayed a little longer at the Evans's house after their hang out was over.
He said he would help Ryan clean the kitchen and go home. But just when he was about to walk out of the main door, they both realized that a snowstorm has been happening outside.
Chad's car was completely covered in snow. The shiny red color Ryan normally recognized so easily was hard to see under all the snow.
And the road was covered with huge amounts of snow as well.

Chad quickly closed the main door when he realized what's going on. A few snowflakes still managed to get inside the house, but it wasn't much, not compared to what's happening outside.

"Uhh do you mind if a stay a little longer?" He turned around to look at Ryan.

"Of course. I wouldn't want you to drive in that weather. Even though it's probably impossible to do so anyway."

"Yeah. I couldn't get out of here even if I wanted to...so I guess you're stuck with me."

"Of course I get stuck with you."

They stood in front of the door for a few seconds before Ryan spoke up.

"I have some pyjamas I could lent you for the night."

"Yeah that'd be great. Should we go do something? Wanna watch a movie, play something, or just hang out?"

"Since you're stuck with me now, you have to suffer through my 'terrible' movie taste. Aka musicals. But before we watch anything I think I should go prepare the room for you. You want to sleep in the guest bedroom, right?"

Chad forgot that the Evans's had multiple bedrooms made just for guests.

"First off, ain't no way I'm watching musicals. And yeah sure, can we go check out the guest bedroom?"

"Sure, just follow me"

They were walking through the enormous hallways with multiple rooms, Chad has been in this house a few times before and he still could not tell where the bathroom is.

"Hey dude also...are you sure it's alright for me to stay here tonight. Cause I'm not sure I wanna listen to Sharpay's bitching when she hears about it."

"Don't worry I honestly don't think they're even gonna come back today...Sharpay and mom went skiing so I'm pretty sure they won't be able to get back home in this snow hurricane. Unless they buy a private helicopter, which wouldn't be a good idea."

"Yeah you're right dude. Don't ever mention this to Sharpay anyway. I wouldn't be able to stand her screaming and crying about me staying in her house while she wasn't there."

"Don't worry I don't want to deal with her forcing our cleaners to deep scrub every part of our house just because the Chad Danforth was here"

They both scoffed at the thought. Their back and forth jokes could've easily turned into reality if either of them let anything slip in front of Sharpay.

Ryan stopped abruptly, which made Chad bump into him.

"Sorry. I'm just wondering if you would prefer the guest room closer to my room, which is okay, or this one, which is a little farther from my room but it's undoubtedly better."

"You really are spoiled huh?" Chad teasingly hit Ryan's shoulder with his fist. "Man I really don't care. It even baffles me that you guys have a guest room I can stay in. Usually during sleepovers Troy just gives me a blanket and a pillow and I sleep on the floor."

Ryan laughed at that and started walking again.

"Alright then I'll prepare the guest bedroom closer to my room."

"Wanting to be as close to me as possible I see huh?"

Chad started walking as well, making his way next to Ryan again.

"Maybe. But it's also the more practical option."

"And we're here. If you remember my room is just around the corner."

Chad has been in Ryan's room only once. It was for their school project. But they had to switch houses where they worked after Sharpay started to disrupt them too often.

Ryan then opened the door of the guest's bedroom. And it just looked like a regular room without any fun or personality it in. Just a blant room with a big bed where at least two people could fit.

"Woah this room is cool man"

"Yeah it's nothing special but you can stay the night in here"

"Sure sounds great."

"Okay, if you like it then it's settled. Oh and it looks like Maya has changed the beds covers so I don't have to do that."

"Maya?" Chad has never heard of that person before. Ryan never mentioned anyone named Maya.

"Yeah just one of our cleaners. She's really nice."

"Oh right. It's nice of you to be on first name basis with them."

"I think that's the bare minimum, Danforth. Not all of us rich people are completely separated from reality."

Well Sharpay for sure was. But Chad knew Ryan was different. Even though he's for sure privileged because of his parents's wealth, he doesn't let that effect his personality. He doesn't think he's automatically better than others. Sometimes Chad wonders how did the Evans's twins end up so different.

"First name basis with your cleaners but last name basis with me? How rude of you, Evans."

"Yeah? And who started this?" Ryan looked at Chad with a smug smile.

"Hmm me but that was back when I thought you were just a spoiled brat like Sharpay. No offense."

"Right. Well anyway wanna go watch some musicals? You actually don't have a choice, we are going to watch legally blonde the musical."

Ryan then started walking towards his room, not giving Chad enough time to catch up.

After a second of processing what Ryan said, he smiled and jogged after him.
"I'd rather freeze in the snowstorm outside than watch some musicals."

Chad came into Ryan's room. Ryan was already seated in his bed, a very big bed, bigger than it needed to be. Chad closed the door behind him, even though he didn't need to, since they were all alone already.

Chad started walking towards Ryan's bed so he could lay down as well.

Ryan's hand reached of the tv remote.

When Chad spotted the remote in Ryan's hand he immediately reacted. He ran next to the bed, reaching all the way from the other side of the bedframe, to grab the tv remote from Ryan's hand.

"No, we're not gonna watch musicals."

Chad put one of his knees on the bed, so he could get a better grip of the remote.

Ryan tighten his grip on the remote as well.
"This is my tv so we are watching whatever I want."

Chad smiled back at Ryan.

Their fingers were touching but neither of them pulled away. They were fighting for the control of the tv.

Chad quickly grabbed the wrist of Ryan's arm with his free hand, keeping one hand on the tv remote. He pulled Ryan's hand away from the remote and he pulled the remote closer to him with his other hand. He quickly snapped the tv remote from Ryan's hand, causing Ryan to give up and cross his arms.

"I won which means we're watching Dexter instead." He stood up straight holding the remote next to his head.

"Fine you won I guess. But that was 100% unfair."

"Fair or not I'm now the proud owner of your tv remote, so we're watching what I want." He said while he jumped on the bed and sat in a comfortable position next to Ryan. Holding one hand behind his head and browsing Netflix with his other.

"Dude if that show sucks I'm never trusting your taste in movies again."

"It's a series but don't worry it's like really good. Especially season 1."

"Fine. You know it's the perfect weather for Christmas movies but instead we're gonna watch some crime series."

"It's not just a crime series, it's much more than that. And you can just imagine that it all takes place during Christmas or whatever, which would make it a Christmas series."

"So when a series takes place during winter it's automatically Christmas themed?"

"Obviously."

"Just turn on the show, Danforth."

"what the hell??" Screamed Ryan audibly "what do you mean that's his brother?! You can't just spoil that!"

"I thought you didn't care about 'some crime show'" mocked Chad Ryan while grinning ear to ear.

"I'm probably never gonna watch it again, but getting spoiled still hurts."

"Not my fault. The show came out like 3 years ago. You had plenty of time to watch it."

"Whatever you're just an asshole."

Beep

Their 'argument' got interrupted by a notification that popped up on Ryan's phone.

Ryan reached his right hand to grab it. He
turned on his phone and was about to put the password in.

Chad leaned in a little closer to sneak a peak at Ryan's password. "Dude I can't believe a guy like you doesn't use face recognition." Ryan tried to hide his smile as he pushed Chad away with his left hand, not breaking his stare from his phone.

"Just shut up already"

Chad got pushed just a little away, far away for him to not see the fourth digit of Ryan's password. Once Ryan's phone was unlocked, Chad immediately recognized the obnoxiously pink profile picture.

Sharpay
"Ryan! Guess what happened?! We won't be able to get home in time today. The roads are covered in snow and our private helicopter APPERANTLY can't fly in this weather."

"Yikes as dramatic as ever I see" Chad somehow found himself leaning next to Ryan again.

"Yeah but...what I'm getting is that we have the house to ourselves for the entire night. Who knows when they'll come back."

"Awesome, dude! I least I won't hear Sharpay's moaning about me staying over."

"What she doesn't know can't hurt her." Said Ryan while smiling at Chad.

While Chad was not paying attention Ryan quickly grabbed the tv remote from his part of the bed.

"Hey! Give it back" Protested Chad, but not giving it his full to get the remote back.

"No. You had your show and now it's my turn."

"Fine but if you put on some stupid twinkle town musical I'm leaving. I don't care that I'm gonna get burried in snow."

Ryan finally decided on turning on the classic Christmas movie, It's a Wonderful Life. Ryan always considered it a classic, however Chad has never watched it before. So Ryan insisted that they have to watch it together, despite him watching it for like the 10th time.

9:34 AM
Everything was a blur.

Ryan got woken up by his twin sister's intense screaming. When he drastically opened his eyes, he also tried to push himself up at the same time. But he couldn't for some reason, it was like some force was keeping him laying in his bed. His vision finally returned from blur back to normal.

And now he knew the reason why his sister was screaming so loudly. Chad was laying next to him. And not only that. One of Chad's hands was around Ryan's waist, and the other hugged under Ryan's neck.

Ryan noticed that he himself had one of his hands wrapped around Chad loosely. Also one of his legs was tangled in between Chad's legs.

This looked really bad for them.

Sharpay took a moment to breathe again before doing a second round of screaming, even louder than before.

This time a scream so loud it woke up Chad.

Ryan was still in a state between sleep and reality, but he could clearly observe whatever was going on around him.

Chad's eyes opened quickly, they didn't even have the time to adjust. His immediate reaction was to look around to the direction from where the screaming was coming from.

He put the hand that was previously on Ryan's waist to his side so it could lift him up a little.

Ryan finally adjusted completely and decided he should be the one reactioning to his sister's yells.

"Sharpay! Can you be quiet?" He yelled back in a slightly quieter volume than her. Just so she could hear him.

"Ryan! What is THIS??" she pointed her finger at Chad. Who was just now getting the time to wake up properly.

"Sharpay, you didn't have to wake us up over this."

"No! Ry! This is absurd! Me and mom are away for ONE night and your first action is to invite, some JOCK over to our house!"

Chad and Ryan finally untangled themselves completely. Both of them sitting up. Ryan noticed that they both were still wearing the clothes from yesterday, neither of them changed into pyjamas.

"Hey rude." Chad said.

"You!" Said Sharpay in an alarming voice. "Don't speak." She pointed her finger even harder at him this time. Turning her attention back to Ryan, like Chad is invisible.

"Sharpay... Yesterday I invited Chad and our other friends over. After everyone left Chad stayed behind to help me clean up. And after he was ready to go home, the snowstorm started. So I let him stay at our house."

Ryan spoke calmly, as if he wasn't kinda freaked out about Sharpay seeing them like this.

She was just being overdramatic though.

"Kay? That doesn't explain why you had to cud-dle with him while sleeping!" She split the word 'cuddle' in half. Too disgusted to say it all together.

"We fell asleep while watching a movie." Ryan raised his voice by a bit.

"Of course you did." She said sarcastically "He better be out of the house in 10 minutes. After that me and you can have a talk." She looked at her brother with her judgy stare, before turning her head in Chad's direction.

"Time to go basketball boy!" She yelled before grabbing the door handle and slamming the door of her brother's room aggressively.
The silence took over the room for a few seconds.

"Sorry about her."

"Yeah no it's fine. I mean I wouldn't expect anything else from her."

Chad aimed his eyes at Ryan for the first time this morning, his voice was still a bit raspy but Ryan didn't care.

"Well I wouldn't take her for granted. If I were you I'd leave as soon as possible."

"Wow are you really kicking me out of your bed, Evans?"

Smiled Chad smugly at Ryan, in response Ryan just shrugged his amrs, but smiled anyway.

There wasn't really much to pack up or whatever. Since Chad came there without anything on him except for his phone. In no time they were both standing at the Evans's front door. Neither of them spoke about their mishap this morning, it even looked like they pretended it didn't happen at all.

"Well I guess I'll be going now..." Said Chad with a rather awkward look on his face.

"Yeah you probably should before Sharpay sees you're still here." He looked on the clock in their living room. "It has been around 9 minutes. You have one minute to leave."

Chad quickly opened the door.

"Bye then! See you in school, man!" He said while walking out of the house.

When Ryan was about to close the door behind him, Chad stopped at the front mat. Ryan stopped his closing the door, he opened the door even further, not caring about the cold breeze running up his spine.

"What's up? Did you forget something?" Ryan asked, because Chad didn't say anything.

He then turned around and grabbed Ryan by his collar and pulled him outside.

Suddenly a strong wind hit and shut the door behind them. Before Ryan could question what was Chad doing. He pulled him close into a kiss.

One of Chad's hand still lingered on Ryan's collar, loosening his grip every passing second. His other hand found his place on Ryan's waist.
Ryan was ataken back at first. But then he put both of his hands behind Chad's neck, pulling him even closer.

Both of them stopped when they heard a loud thuds and stomps from inside the house. Chad pulled away first, probably in fear of Sharpay catching them again. He then looked at Ryan who stood in front of him.

They stared at each other, neither of them saying anything, except Ryan trying and failing to hide his smile.

"Ryan!" Yelled a high pitched voice.

"I'll better go."

"Yeah. Bye."

Ryan took a last glance at Chad who turned around just as Ryan turned his head around to get a good grip on the door handle.

Even after he opened the door his smile still didn't go away.

"Ryan. Why were you outside? And why are you all smiles?" Sharpay asked. Ryan didn't respond.

He heard her yelling. However he didn't care enough to listen, he only kinda paid attention when she mentioned Chad's name.

Suddenly his phone vibrated in his pocket. He pulled it out and saw a new message from Chad.

"Wanna go out tomorrow? ;)"

Ryan smiled at his phone.

"Are you seriously looking at your phone while I'm talking to you?!" Scream Sharpay in his face.
"Whatever. You can deal with that jerk in your own. Just don't bring him around here!" She said and stormed off to her room upstairs.

Ryan sat down in the couch, still looking at Chad message.

"Are you asking me on a date, Danforth?"

"Yeah. Wear something nice I have a surprise!"

"Okay. Excited to see you;)"

Notes:

While I was rereading this I literally thought "ew, why are they flirting?" So idk if that says anything about the quality of the fic but I hope you enjoyed nonetheless
