Chapter Text
Rumi was currently singing and writing down some melody that was stuck in her head for their new single, “Paper Dolls” which had yet to be released.
“This is not a game and it never-“
“MOMMY!”
Rumi threw her guitar behind out of being so startled by the way her littles called her. She guessed it, they were dropped and she couldn’t really work on the song anymore so she went straight into caregiver mode. “I-Is something wrong you guys?”
They both shook their heads.
“Okay, then why did you call for me like paparazzi or demons broke into our penthouse?”
Neither one of the littles answered Rumi’s question when Zoey shouted. “Shop!”
Rumi tilted her head in confusion. “You want to go shopping?”
They both nodded. Rumi herself was a little nervous because she never been caregiver in public. That was only done in the safety of their penthouse or even in their hotel rooms. However, Rumi was also excited as well because she had secretly been wanting to take her littles shopping. Their regressions were still pretty new and she wanted to get them some toys to play with and supplies they might need. Sure, there were a few toys already. Zoey had a bunch of turtle toys and her iPad. Mira was a blind box collector and she loved the Sanrio characters. That was about it.
“We go for mommy!” Mira added.
In her big headspace, Mira had been dropping hints that she wanted to take Rumi shopping to get her some new clothes and expand her style ever since the half demon had started gaining confidence about her patterns.
“Well, I think it’s interesting that you guys want to go shopping for me and not for yourselves,” Rumi chuckled. “Tell you what. We can go shopping for mommy if mommy can go shopping for you. Is that a deal?”
“Yayyyy!!” They both cheered.
The girls decided to dress in disguises which would be smart since two out of three were regressed and whether Zoey would be embarrassed about being recognized in little space is unknown but Rumi knew Mira would feel very embarrassed.
Zoey kept her usual disguise outfit which was a white t-shirt, grey shorts, tropical bomber jacket and yellow bucket hat since she hadn’t been caught at all. Mira on the other hand had been caught so she had to change her outfit. She settled on a temporary outfit for now since she was in her little space and would eventually come up with a permanent one once she’s big again with a black oversized shirt which covered her black skater skirt. She still had her gold round rimmed glasses and topped off her outfit with white boots and black bear ear knitted hat. The only thing Rumi really changed about her disguise outfit was getting rid of the turtleneck and getting rid of her black coat. Aside from that she changed into her magenta hoodie and green sweatpants.
As the girls were ready, Rumi made sure to pack a bag which she labeled out to be their “little bag,” as she packed snacks, water, and wipes….what else? Damn, Rumi really needed to get more little supplies. Thank goodness for this trip.
“What’s that?” A voice asked, making Rumi turn around from behind which turned out to be Mira asking.
“O-Oh this? Just stuff I think we might need. You know how shopping can be..” Rumi replied. She wasn’t entirely wrong as they would snack while shop sometimes, but Rumi usually never packed snacks from home. If Mira was in her adult headspace, she would be pounding Rumi with questions about why she was packing snacks but little Mira just shrugged it off, leaving Rumi surprised.
Zoey came in next, confidently putting one of her shoes on the wrong feet making the caregiver laugh.
“Here, let me help you,” Rumi took Zoey’s shoe as Zoey gladly allowed Rumi to assist her. “Is everyone ready to go? Is there anything else you guys want to bring?”
Zoey jumped up and down raising her hand like a student begging to get called on. “Oh oh! Me!” she shouted, hopping on the one foot that already didn’t have her shoe on the now correct foot only to come back with her favorite stuffed turtle.
“Hmmm, what if we put that in the bag?” Rumi asked in suggestion, only making Zoey shake her head immediately and clutching the turtle to her chest.
“Okay okay, but when we get to the store it either goes in the car or in the bag, okay?”
“Okay mommy.”
“What about you Mira?”
Mira just stood there, with her arms crossed not unlike her big self and shaking her head no.
“Okay then, out we go!” Rumi chanted, as the other two joined her with enthusiasm to the car. Yes the girls had a driver or Bobby would drive them but there were a few times where the girls themselves would drive. It was very rare since it always ended in the craziest crash outs and coming at each other’s throat because of how the other peeeon drove, but that was another story for another time.
The drive there didn’t contain much other than Zoey and Mira chanting, “Shopping for mommy! Shopping for mommy!” Rumi looked back and chuckled at her littles. Gosh, they were so cute she couldn’t resist. They have arrived at an Emart which was 10 minutes away from the penthouse.
Luckily Zoey didn’t put up a fuss and remembered she couldn’t hold her turtle when they went inside. This was a blessing because Rumi knew at some point Zoey might end up leaving it and things would not end well.
As Rumi had parked and turned off the car, she quickly got out before any of her little would be able to open the door, unbuckle and wander off into the parking lot.
“There we go!” she exclaimed, unbuckling them.
“We’re here!” Zoey shouted.
“Yep! That’s right!”
All three of them held hands, Rumi standing in between the two and headed inside the store.
“So where to first?” Rumi asked.
Mira pointed at Rumi implying she wanted to shop for her caregiver first. Rumi looked at her stunned.
“Wait…you’re actually sure?”
Mira nodded.
“Hmm okay, what do you think Zoey?”
“You first mommy!”
Rumi chuckled as the girls headed to the clothes section. Even in little space, Mira had an excellent taste in style. The only issue was that she wouldn’t always dress for the weather. Today wasn’t necessarily the coldest day but it was still a little on the chilly side and wearing a skirt while a short sleeved T-shirt in cold weather was definitely an equation for being cold.
After clothes browsing for Rumi, it was finally time to shop for the littles. Luckily the toy section was close to the baby section so Rumi could figure out what the girls needed while they got to choose what they wanted and she would be able to watch them from afar instead of worrying.
“Hmmmmm,” Rumi hummed in thought. What do they need?
She spotted diapers and pull ups. Did they? She couldn’t help but gravitate towards the boxes. For whatever reason, her gut told her it might be necessary even though they were pretty continent when little. However, both girls regressed in the toddler range and usually it seemed diapers aren’t needed.
Rumi huffed and in conclusion she just bought one box. Just in case, right? Mira could have a very bad IBS flare up so maybe this could be for her during her flare ups when little, right?
What else? Pacis? Sure, it didn’t hurt to buy some for when they were at their youngest age. Now, weighted blankets? Definitely! She knew they would love that. Usually, Rumi would cuddle with them if they wanted deep pressure but the blankets could be a good alternative whenever Rumi was busy with something. Last but not least, bottles! Again, just in case they were super small and couldn’t drink out of a regular cup right?
In addition, she got some banana milk which she knew they liked in both headspaces and restocked on protein powder so the girls can still get in protein when regressed as that was one of the current struggles she’s been dealing with.
She got some more little food and finally finished her own shopping, now checking up on her little ones.
“Sooo how’s it going girls?”
“Awesome mommy! Look!” Zoey exclaimed, a little too loudly and showing Rumi all the turtle toys and sensory toys she wanted to buy.
Rumi couldn’t help but wince a little. Yeah, they were going to have to have a talk about volume control when being out in public while in little space.
“Well that’s very lovely Zoey, why don’t you put that in the cart? And what about you Mira?”
Mira stayed quiet but held up some blind boxes and Sanrio plushies. As Rumi nodded and helped her put that stuff in the cart, it was time to check out.
As she finished paying, she spotted Mira placing two hand on her stomach and her face expressing pain.
“Mir? What’s wrong baby?” Rumi asked in a whisper while also being so full of concern.
Mira patted her stomach again and luckily it only took a second for Rumi to find out what her baby was really trying to communicate. She was having an IBS flare up. Even worse, it was in public.
The little one looked down at the floor with embarrassment as Rumi helpfully guided her the bathroom and quickly got her into a stall, yanking Mira’s skirt and underwear down before sitting her down on the toilet. Luckily there was no accident, but her poor girl was still in pain and she let out a whine.
"Shhh shhh, I know it hurts. I know. My girl is so strong and brave," the caregiver whispered before placing her hands on her shoulders and rubbing them.
Rumi sighed at what she was about to do next as she grabbed a purchased diaper box. She knew Mira wasn’t going to like it, but she also wanted to play it safe in case Mira had an accident in the car.
“Hey baby, uhhhhhh you’re going to kill me for this….but why don’t we try this? Hm?” Rumi nervously suggested.
Mira looked up and saw the diaper in her caregiver’s hand. She shook her head quickly.
Rumi nodded in response. “Yes, let’s try please. Look, let’s think of this as…protective underwear okay? Not diaper. Protective underwear.”
Mira paused before nodding slowly. Plus, it wouldn’t be long until they would go home right? It would also be a one time thing right? Never again?
As the diaper had been placed on, her skirt luckily hid the diaper bulge.
“There we go!” Rumi chirped, before gently grabbing her little’s hand and getting her out of the stall and to wash her hands.
When Mira was done washing her hands Rumi asked, "Are you all better?"
Mira shook her head no. She couldn't even go like she badly needed to making Rumi frown at her baby's continuous pain. This was going to have to be taken care of when they get home and they were going to have to leave now.
She then looked around the bathroom to see if Zoey was there. Her face raised with worry when she didn’t see her other little.
“Zoey! ZOEY! Where are you?” Rumi called out, frantically. Luckily, Rumi’s worry didn’t last very long as Zoey came back with another turtle plushie. Bigger than the one already purchased in their cart. “Zoey, you scared me. Don’t run off next time without telling mommy okay?” she sighed in relief that Zoey was okay.
However, that didn’t stop Zoey from feeling bad. “Sorry mommy,” she pouted.
Rumi let out a chuckle without a hint of cruelty seeing her little girl pout. “It’s okay. I’m just glad you’re here now. Let's go home.”
Safe to say this trip was mostly successful. No one had been caught in their disguises, no one was left behind, and everyone was in one piece.
