Dean refused to be teleported by his friend so the angel fly them back to the bunker. The celestial being neglected his wings for so long that the little trip in the sky made him require an immediate preening.
The human insisted to help due to the guilt for being the motive his friend is in pain. He didn't backtrack even when Cas told him what to do and that the angel himself would experiment arousal as a side effect.
