“You know what they never tell you about that whole superhero gig?” Shoto asks, seemingly directed at the air he is currently swinging through. “Everyone knows about the entire secret identity stuff and the property damage, explosions, et cetera…. Well, what nobody talks about is that living that double life might actually be what puts you into the ground first. If a giant doped up guy doesn’t beat you to it, of course.”
He shoots another silvery line at the next closest towering skyscraper, close enough to see his own reflection and throw a distorted peace sign.
“I’m gonna tell you a story. Or, well, I’ll take you along for a story,” he continues, letting gravity pull him into a short freefall. “My story, I guess. I have no idea how it’s gonna end, or how bad it might get along the way, so don't ask me for spoilers. We’ll both just have to be surprised together.”
