Work Text:
After lunch everyday, Hyunjin will spend one or two hours in a room Jisung prepared specially for her to paint. During school days, she will stop when it's time to pick her sons up from school. But today, it's the weekend and the family won't go to the grandparents house, so she spends her time longer in the room, finishing her piece.
After drowning her focus in her hobby, suddenly she gets distracted with a soft knock. She looks at the door, a smile instantly blooms on her face when she sees her youngest son struggles to twist the knob very carefully because he only has one free hand as the other is holding a cup of hot chocolate.
"Mommy, Channie made mommy a hot choco" he gives the cup to Hyunjin, doesn't forget to ask her to be careful because it's hot, and only then he goes back to the door to shut it.
"Thank you, my little superman. This is delicious" she praises softly after taking a sip, and she puts it on the table to continue her painting.
"Yeah, Binnie hyung made it actually, Channie just took the credit" the little boy shamelessly admits while taking a seat on a stool next to his mother. Hyunjin chuckles, and the ambience goes back to calm as Chan watches her touch-up a few little strokes on the canvas.
Hyunjin paints a scenery of maple trees during autumn, and she almost finishes the whole piece, so Chan can already see the final look at that moment.
"It's pretty, isn't it?" Hyunjin asks as she puts her brush down and looks at her son's reaction. Chan looks like he is mesmerized by the piece, and he nods as an answer.
"It's okay" contradictingly, his comment is nothing close to a praise. Hyunjin gasps, pout is visible on her lips right away.
"Hey, that upsets me" she mumbles sulkily. She is not really upset, to be honest. She just wants to joke around with her little baby. Chan looks at her.
"Channie sorry, mommy. They are pretty, but it's nothing compared to mommy" he explains and shrugs innocently.
Hyunjin gasps again, but this time because of the heart flutter she feels.
"Aww, baby..." She coos, twisting her body so she can face the little boy and she holds both of his little hands.
How can she be so lucky to have such a sweetheart in her life? At a time like this, she loves to put the reason on Jisung. Jisung is the sweetest person she has ever seen, and she is more than grateful that her sons get all these sweetness from him. She must be the luckiest person alive.
"There's tons of beautiful things out there, my sweetheart" she says fondly while she swings their hands slowly left and right. Chan seems to be interested in the topic.
"Really?" He asks out of curiosity. It makes Hyunjin smile the widest.
"Of course. The world is really beautiful, you know?" She adds. Surely enough, she feels like her world is exceptionally beautiful thanks to the people in her life, especially her husband and kids. That's why she hopes her son will see the world just as beautiful as she sees.
"I know that" Chan reacts calmly, like the statement doesn't faze him anymore. Hyunjin chuckles at his reaction.
"You do?" She asks. Chan nods lightly before he answers
"Yeah, Mommy is Channie's world, and Mommy is beautiful"
Hyunjin feels like she can cry. A moment like this makes her want the time to stop. Her heart feels so full with love that it can burst into a beautiful flower rain. She just ends up giggling, and she leans to do a little foreheard bump with Chan. The little boy giggles when he feels her mother snuggle their forehead together.
"I love you, baby"
"I love you more, mommy"

Meanwhile, in another household...
Yongbok feels like she could cry.
It's a baking day for the family, and while Seungmin is in charge of making chocolate butter cookies, all Minho has to do is decorate the cake with cream and drizzle. Yongbok? She just watches. That's why she almost cries.
Because she laughs too much.
"Okay, done. A masterpiece" Minho proudly announces her artwork, looking at the full cake that is covered with white frosting, and it has countless of different size jureumi all over it that Minho drew with the chocolate drizzle. She looks at Yongbok that sits next to her at the dining table, and when she sees the little girl laughing so hard because of her decoration, she also laughs just as hard, hitting the table out of habit.
"No, but- why isn't this working?"
Yongbok turns around to her left when she hears Seungmin's frustrated comment, and what she sees makes her want to laugh even harder, but she holds it and quickly turn away to stop looking.
Seungmin's chocolate butter cookie is supposed to look like a puppy because of the puppy cutter, but because the dough is too hard, now it just looks like...dog's poop.
"Ahh! I can't do this!" Seungmin rants out loud, successfully making his daughter burst out laughter again while trying to fix the shape of his cookies one more time. Yongbok turns around to see the process, just to laugh even harder that she almost falls off the chair. Minho on the other hand, doesn't even bother because she starts to poke the cake with pepero, specifically on each of jureumi's circle mouths.
"Ahh... I'm in tears. I can't breathe" Yongbok wipes her tears and pants heavy breaths, her cheeks are in pain from laughing too much. Only then, Minho takes a sneak peek at Seungmin's baking progress, and she chuckles. At the same time, Seungmin steals a glance at the silly cake decoration and chuckles as well.
"Your sense of art is so unique" Minho comments.
"Can't say the same about yours" Seungmin replies, making her laugh.
And Yongbok almost dies from laughter too hardly again.
