I'll break your bones with all, the love i carry

Summary:

Grox and Froggy didn't know how to handle this.

How to handle Mob being dead.

Or

Sequel to 'Cause it's too little way too late

Notes:

HELLOOOOO
First i want to apologize that this took me so long.

Tbh i had suchhhh a motivational block, and then i was writing and was kind of like "well! I don't have to like what i write as long as i pump this sequel out"
Then realized that is such a dumb mindset bc why would i do that? If i do that then it's not MY work anymore because i wrote something i didn't even like.

I do hope you all enjoy this really,
(Also i love the 'threat' comments they make me giggle so much please send more)

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Grox dosen't know how long they stayed there holding Mob's body.

He just knew he couldn't let go,

Ever.

Never would he let him go again. Never would he let him leave again-

..

His sunshine was so cold,

He shouldn't be.

A lump forms in his throat.

He feels like throwing up.

He can't look at the blood, Mobs blood, on the floor.

A breath leaves him and he glances at Froggy.

He wasn't farring much better, caressing Mobs pale face.

The part that still held his features-

The frog hybrid speaks first, while tracing Mobs cheek

"What...will we do now?"

The other snaps his head up, a fiercy glare appearing on his face

The wither skeleton holds his son tighter, looking back down at the enderman

"What do you mean what will we do now!-?" He snarls, breath quickening a little

"We- we will take him back.- he will come back home because i will not.. let him stay in this god forsaken world where he-"

Grox cuts himself off with a chocked gasp

Froggy had suddendly placed a hand on the wither skeletons cheek, softly raising his head.

The frog softly shakes his head, letting out a breath.

"Thats not what i ment."

The other blinks, shoulders slowly untensing a little.

"Obviously we will take him home..but i ment.." Froggy turns his head off to the side.

"I ment after. After- he is back home what will we do?..how will his funeral-"

"how can you speak of that! He isn't.. there still must be a way!-"

"And how?!" The frog snaps back. His hands shaking.

"How. Tell me how will we every get him warm again? Feel his heart beat again?

Grox there just isn't-"

"There HAS to be!" The other snaps back,

"There needs to be..." he whispers quietly, laying his head against his sons.

Froggy lets out a quiet breath. Closing his eyes for a few seconds.

An uncomfortable silence fills the room before the frog hybrid whispers.

"Let's just-... let's get him home first."

....

Froggy didn't know what to do.

His husband is going borderline insane, his son is-..

They left the body in Grox's lab to study it, to figure out how long it has been since...

There was no way to safe him.

It had been days.

He's been rotting away for days.

Alone.

Froggy couldn't bring himself to leave the side of his son's body, watching as the villagers exaim him.

It's why he got to this conclusion so late.

He had been thinking.

About Grox, about Mob.

About what had gone wrong

Or rather..when it had gone wrong.

But then..it siwtched to Verity.

Because how.

How. Was Verity here?

Scratch that. Why was he here?

If he was the last one with Mob...

If he was the last being Mob had been with for most of the duration he had been away-

Froggy's eyes widden at the thought.

Mob's reason..

That makes him jump, off the chair he had been sitting on.

He gives the body a quick glance, hes unsure if he can go-

He dosen't want to leave Mob.

Never again.

..but this

This was somehow- most definently contected to that random ass ball-

It had to be.

He, atleast needed to see if Verity knew anything.

If he is to blame for-

It's hard for Froggy to leave Mob's side.

But in the end he had to.

Just like how Mob left theirs.

.....

Mob's body had been dead far to long.

Grox can't get over his guilt.

Maybe if he had forced Mob to speak- forced him to come back home..

Hell, if they hadn't let him leave at all he could still be-

He cannot stop thinking about it,

About everything.

About the way Mob acted when Grox visited, the way he laid limp on that blooded floor with a gun beside his hand-

The pen he was holding slipped out of his hand, landing on the floor with a clatter that filled the otherwise silent office.

He lets out a quiet breath, glancing down at the pen before placing his head into his hands.

What was wrong with him.

He needed to get a grip. He needed to find a way to get Mob back-

He can't give up.

He just can't let his son go.

Grox raises his head, glancing at the edge of his table, where a little box laid.

He and Froggy were going to-

He quickly shakes his head, starring at the wall.

A sigh leaves him as he once more shakes his head before leaning down to grab his pen from the floor.

He sits up again, glancing down at the documents he had been working on.

He should really finish this-

But how could he.

How could he continue work when all his thoughts drift back to his son laying in his blood in that sterile white room-

The pen snaps between his fingers.

His eyes snap open, he didn't even notice them closing.

A shaky breath leaves his lips.

He couldn't do this.

How could he continue when he knows mob isn't here anymore-

It is as if all the good things got taken from him,

From both of them.

Mob was what held him and Froggy together, was what made them want to-

How could he continue when Mob is- was part of the fire keeping him thriving.

The next thing he feels is anger.

Anger and dispair dosen't mix well.

....

Verity remembers the first and only time Mob told him about his parents.

They were sitting over a cliff, starring out into the ocean.

He always wondered why Mob wasn't afraid that he would fall into the water.

..

"You know, my parent's didn't really want me to leave their world" Mob hums

Verity glances over, confused

"Oh? Why is that mob!"

The enderman hybrid shrugs.

"They were a bit protective like that.. maybe even possessive..." he trails of before he sighs.

"I remember them trying to stop me then."

A breathless laugh escapes him.

"My father was being obvious with it, always changing the subject when leaving came up, giving- the dumbest reasons to stay."

His tail swishes ligthly, as he leans his head back to stare into the sky.

"My dad...well, he tried to make it less obvious. Hiding my shit, giving me the dumbest tasks to help him with."

He glances at the ball.

"But as you can see.. in the end that didn't stop me"

A grin spreads across his red lips, as he turns his head back towards the glittering water.

"My father was all pouty and shit. And my dad tried to hide it, but i know he was pretty upset too, even tho he was smiling and all that"

He waves a hand around.

"I mean, sure i miss them."

His eyes twinkle.

"But i.. i love seeing worlds."

"There is just... a certain beauty in their differences i can't explain."

"And once i'm back. I will tell them about everything i saw, everyone i've met and how much.. i am happy to be back"

He turns his head to Verity, a brightfull smile ligthening up his whole face

It reminded the ball of the sun.

The enderman blinks, before glancing back out into the ocean, his smile peacefully fading as a comfortable silence falls between them.

They stay like that for a while.

As the sun goes down, Mob starts to speak again.

"You know.." he starts slowly, whispering as if it would hide his words in the calmness of the ocean.

He glances at Verity before he continues.

"I will be leaving this world too."

Suddendly the atmosphere grows heavy.

Verity is so sure theres more Mob needs to say.

He needs mob to say more besides that single statement.

But instead the enderman turns his eyes away again, watching the sun sink behind the wall of water.

"Would you.. take me with you?" The yellow ball asks, starring at Mob.

"To another world, i mean?"

The enderman blinks, turning his head to stare at verity.

The only response he got that night was Mob's laughter.

....

Froggy stood behind Verity.

He isn't sure how to feel.

Confused is one thing for sure,

Because the damn ball suddendly had a body, leaning against the balconys railing and looking over as if he owns the placd.

The frog hybrid leans against the doorway.

"A body huh. Since when could you do that?" He says, announcing his arrival.

Verity dosen't flinch, dosent turn around.

The only aknowledgement Froggy gets is it's reply

"Oh you know" Verity shrugs his shoulders,

"Always could."

"Mob didn't like it that much so i didn't use it allot."

The frog hybrid tenses, his eyes narrowing.

He waits for a continuation.

A conformation.

It dosen't come.

Froggy pushes himself off, taking a step closer.

"What happend to him." He grits out.

Silence.

Verity blinks where he stands, taking the words in before quickly turning around to face the frog hybrid.

"Excuse me?"

"Don't play stupid" Froggy snarls. "You know what i said. Afterall, you 'know everything'" he hummed mockingly.

Verity's eyes narrow, not because Froggy is wrong.

But because of the bland disrespect.

"Pray tell, what could you mean." A tight smile graces the balls face.

Froggy wanted to punch him so bad in that moment.

Instead he stormed infront of him, gripping it's vest tigthly.

"It was you, wasn't it" he snarls.

The balls expression turns grim, a glare appearing on his face.

"What-"

The frog hybrid slams Verity to the floor, the being in question gasping out a breath.

"You made him do this didn't you?!" He shouts, sitting ontop of Verity while one of his hands let go of the vest, raising into the air.

The being under him tenses, a snarl forming on his face.

"I didn't make him do anything!" Verity snaps back.

Froggy almost faltered.

Almost.

Verity should've stopped talking

"He could've STAYED. Could've not made this foolish desicion and stayed MINE!"

"It's HIS fault for choosing this-"

Froggys fist connects with Verity's face.

"How DARE you!" He snaps, continuing his attack on verity, his eyes shining with hatred

"Talking about MY Son like he is something YOU own?!"

He snarls, his hands moving to grip the beings throat.

"You will die for this Verity"

His glare intensives.

"I don't know how much of whatever you did made Mob end his life- but the way you reacted- The way you SPOKE about him proved me..showed me..."

"You are most definently part of his reason" his grip tightens. His face turning blank as he watches the being writhe under his grip.

And Verity just laid there and took it.

Not that the frig hybrid would notice.

He wondered how Verity's arm would taste.

.....

Grox throws an ink bottle to the floor.

His office looked like one big mess.

He couldn't care less about that as he was pacing the room.

'How could Mob... do this'

The wither skeleton clenches his teeth.

He just couldn't understand.

Mob was a happy child growing up, hell. He was happy as he left.

What terror could worlds bring to reduce him to this.

His hands clench into fists.

Hell, why didn't he scream, cry or shout for help when Grox was right there.

No matter how hard he thought, he saw no single reason for his son to take such drastic measures.

He couldn't see why he didn't just come back to them for help.

And maybe that hurt the most.

Did Mob see them as unworthy? Did Mob never think to come into their arms for comfort, for help?

Did he think his parents would shame him? Did their son think that they would toss him to the side?

Was it just a sudden thought to do this to himself?

Did Mob believe he didn't need him and Froggy anymore.

Grox slumps down into his chair, head in his hands.

So many questions, and no answers.

He didn't even leave a message,

Did he think they cared so little?

Was he just so despreate that he took the first chance to kill himself-

He freezes sligthly.

The thought makes him dizzy.

Grox never even thought Mob could go this far.

Would, go this far.

He just saw no reasoning in his son's action.

The wither skeleton knew, he knew Mob acted weird when he visited, he knew Verity had part in this somehow.

..and yet.

He still couldn't see reason.

Did his son believe he was alone? Did something happen to make him think him and Froggy were mad?

A shaky sigh leaves his lips.

He couldn't bring himself to get more mad

Not at Mob. Not when his son had somehow been suffering deeply and he didn't do anything about it, didn't tell them about it.

Grox moves his hands from his face, softly placing his head against his desks surface.

He hopes Mob knows they miss him.

The wither hybrid closes his eyes.

He hopes that wherever Mob may be, he knows they still love him so dearly, that they care so deeply about him that both him and Froggy are going insane.

They would hold him dear forever.

.....

Froggy walks along the hallway of their home, bloodied.

The balcony is painted red.

Nothing some villagers wouldn't be able clean he hoped.

He isn't sure if Verity survived. And to be frank he dosen't really care.

But if he survived, he should know better then to stay.

A sigh leaves his lips, as he wipes his hands on his suit jacket.

He needed to see Grox.

He needed to tell him all that had happened- and he just...

They haven't been talking a lot.

With Froggy staying by Mob's side and Grox burrying himself in his work they just had been..pulling apart.

The frog hybrid hated it.

But at the same time, he did nothing to change their sudden space.

Well, that would change now.

Determined Froggy make shis way to Grox's office.

He stops infront of the wodden doors, taking in a breath before knocking.

He waits for a reply, but none comes.

Froggy blinks, before softly oppening the door.

A tiny bit of blood stays on the door.

The office.. looked horrible, to say the least.

Everywhere the frog hybrid looked was a mess of papers, glass and ink.

A sigh leaves him before his eyes trail towards grox, seemingly asleep on the desk.

Ofcourse.

Slowly, quietly stepping up to Grox, Froggy softly, lays a hand on his head.

Gods. They were a whole mess weren't they?

He watches his partner sleep, softly carding his hand through his hair.

Thankfully the blood on his hands was fully dry now, otherwhise Grox would probably beat his ass.

Froggy stays like that for a few minutes, just enjoying the for once peaceful atmosphere.

They hadn't been this peaceful in a while.

A breath leaves his lips, as he slowly pulls his hand away making his way to leave until he notices it on the floor.

A quiet gasp leaves him as he crouches down and picks up the little jewlery sized box.

He forgot.

He stands back up, softly tracing the top before opening it.

The ring is still sitting inside.

He blinks, before closing it softly.

He had forgotten that he and Grox were going to marry when Mob would come back.

He stares softly at the ring inside, before closing the box.

They weren't going to do it.

He and Grox both knew that.

Instead of placing it back down he softly walks out of the office, down the hallway to their shared bedroom.

There was the perfect place for it to be.

Froggy softly opens the door, stepping inside and walking towards the windowsill.

A place full of pictures of them and Mob.

A small smile appears on his face as he softly nestles the box between some pictures.

No one comes to see his expresion turn griefing, no one sees soft tears slipping out of his eyes.

He should go back to Mobs side.

.....

Verity didn't have a lot of time.

He knew the Villagers shift changes, so he found the perfect time window to see him once more.

He needed to see Mob before going into hiding.

Now standing before the bed Mobs lifeless form is laying on he isn't sure how to act.

He reaches out softly, a hand caressing his soft, cold cheek.

Verity leans closer, his eyes trailing over every detail.

He knows everything,

Yet he isn't sure how to potray his feelings.

The silence hangs in the air, there is no movement around them.

"Mob" he murmurs, soft, quiet.

A frown appears on the balls face, one hand cupping his cheek, the other hand reaching out to touch the body's eyelid softly.

"I am..so unbelievably mad at you"

His hand tigthes a bit against the cheek it lays on.

"How could you do this. Leaving me. That wasn't very nice you know.."

Verity grits his teeth, starring down at his Mob.

"Letting your..father do this to me. Not even telling Me. About your parents"

He moves his hands to Mobs neck, as if to choke him.

"Be grateful i can just get my body parts back."

A short silence fills the room.

"I'm so. So mad."

A sigh leaves his lips, as he slowly moves his hands away.

He leans closer, Mob's forehead touching his. Verity blinks, before closing his eyes for a second.

"But thats okay.." he whispers, his hand moving to card through the endermans hair.

His eyes open again, a possessive gleam in them.

"I will get you back, don't you worry mob."

He continues starring, before moving further up and placing a soft kiss against his forehead.

"It will be just us again. Soon, soon i swear" he promises, his voice carring a dark tint.

He leans closer, nuzzling their heads together before leaning back.

A cheery smile appears back on his face as he stands up straight.

It looks wrong.

"Now don't you worry!" Verity claps his hands together, staring lovingly at Mob's motionless form.

"I do need to go now but..."

"I will come back for you, I promise."

Notes:

SO WHAT DO WE THINKKKK.

I really hope yall liked it.

I also hope i didn't promise anyone a happy end in the sequel...

I am thinking about writing Ghost Mob as a chapter 2 orrr Ghost Mob being in a different universe, do tell me what you would think!

I am really sorry that it took me 3 weeks to post this, really didn't mean for that to happen haha.

ALSO THERES FINALY A FROGGY & THATMOB TAG? gotta update the other fics.

Hope yall have a great day.

(I wanted to add some facts but i lowk forgot them oml if i remember them i'll add them)
I don't know why but at the confrontation scene it felt right, not having Verity fight back? Secretly he also feels guilty. Guilty that he wasn't able to stop Mob that is. Wich, is why he kinda took that as a small punishment? Dosen't mean he enjoyed it haha as we see in the end.
