It was Toshirou's first time making a nest. Reason was: he never needed one because he never got heats; even though it's been 10 years since he was presented as an omega. When he inquired doctors about it they told him that he was a rare case and there's nothing to worry about. But one mentioned that there is a possibility of him going into heat after he finds his mate. And here he is now; making his first ever nest at the yorozuya apartment, in Gintoki's room because after 10 years he had found his perfect mate and gone into heat for the first time. 

The alpha and the omega had been in a relationship for 3 years now but even after they got married last year — after 2 years of dating — Toshirou never went to heat, and it wasn't a problem for either of them. Honestly, Toshirou preferred it that way since it was easier to work unlike other omegas who had trouble due to sudden heats that eventually led them to be removed from ground work. 

But yesterday, after a very satisfying sex session, Toshirou suddenly went into heat. This scared the married couple so the next morning they immediately went to the hospital. But there was nothing to worry about. Just like Toshirou was informed a few years ago, the omega had found his perfect partner and it was this that had led him to his first heat.   

There were a few minutes of panic and anguish, but, surprisingly, Toshirou felt like something heavy had been lifted off his heart. Was it because he wasn't abnormal anymore? Or was it because it was the sign that Gintoki and he were perfect for each other? Toshirou didn't know. 

Gintoki too panicked and apologized multiple times which saddened the omega but they talked things out and after Toshirou said how he really felt, the alpha was relieved. So while they were on their way back home — as instructed by the doctor — the couple went shopping; to buy things for Toshirou's first nest. 

It was nice to see Gintoki way more excited and enthusiastic than himself and this also made Toshirou feel relieved. They bought heat blankets, pillows, a new futon and also some strawberry and mayonnaise printed clothes. 

After they headed home — late at night because the shopping took more time than they expected — Gintoki allowed Toshirou to wash first and after the omega came out he went in. Gintoki did want to join his partner in the shower but the exhaustion and excitement the omega had on his face was so obvious. 

After Gintoki went in, Toshirou quickly took his alpha's clothes and ran to their room to make his nest. 

First he laid the new futon that they had bought, then on top of it he placed their old futon which had both their scents, then he placed the heat blanket and the pillow, and on top of it Gintoki's yukata. The nervously excited omega then placed two more of Gintoki's yukata and placed another one of their old pillows. After the material placing was over, Toshirou seeped into the top layer of Gintoki's yukata and scented the nest with his own. And as soon as he heard the shower stop, Toshirou crawled out and arranged the nest neatly; as it was before. 

As Gintoki came in — wearing another one of his yukatas only — Toshirou's body jolted at the sight of the fresh alpha. He felt his heat rising and ears turning red but tried his best to stay calm.

"The nest is ready!" Toshirou spat out without a second thought because he knew if he kept thinking of 'how to tell' he would never have the chance to speak because of how nervous he was.

Gintoki didn't say a word. He was surprised at the sudden announcement but after looking at the omega and then the nest, without another word, he went towards the freshly made nest.

"H-how is it?" Toshirou stuttered, fidgeting fingers nervously while standing next to his nest.
