Summary
Bokuto Koutarou does not fit his expectations. They’ve spoken for ten minutes, been married for an hour, and yet somehow, in that brief blip of time, he has managed to contradict every one of Keiji’s expectations. He is hardly the brutish, domineering alpha Keiji assumed he would be. Suddenly the future, once clear and predictable, is muddy and entirely unknown.
He renews his resolve then and there to keep this man as far away from his heart as possible.

“What’s ‘rakshak’?” he asks.
Mama’s lips press together, but Papa smiles. “It’s fine, Faranak. The Akasha has a fully public entry on both…conditions. He may as well learn about it now.” Papa takes the clip from Mama, turning it over in his fingers, then looks at Kaveh. “Most countries call rakshak ‘Sentinels.’ You might say they’re the opposite of Guides.”
“Bad?” Kaveh asks warily.
Both his parents laugh. “No, no, sweetheart. I would say they’re more counterparts than opposites—here, let me bring it up,” adds Mama.
