Dawn approached as II stood before the heavy door, the early mist dampening his outerwear. From the outside, the manor was more crumbling castle than anything else, hiding the interior warmth with a wilting exterior, ivy curling out from the cracks, spiralling over windows they didn’t care to peek out of, weathered chips in stone belying the considered care within. II might have preferred a more minimalist home in another life, ordered and easy to track, but his opinions on interior design were of no particular interest to Sleep.
