Chapter Text
Harley Keener knew that spying on the god of spring was a little creepy. Well, maybe not spying. He was watching over! Yes, watching over his future husband, hopefully. And protectively he might add. Seriously though, that boy had gotten himself into trouble more times than Harley could count on his fingers, and although the boy’s mother, May Parker (Goddess of agriculture) loved to have the boy around, she couldn’t always be there to protect him. That’s where Harley came in. He had this longing sense of companionship, and he believed that only Peter Parker could fill that spot as Harley’s own by his side.
Peter Parker was just too naturally curious about the world. He loved to figure out the way things worked, although he tended to get a bit, stuck sometimes. He swears he has no idea how it happens. Like that time with the bird’s nest, he had no idea that climbing up the tree and helping feed the baby chicks would get him into trouble! Seriously, how could the god of spring not be called a god of spring if he couldn’t even help the birds? His mother, May, wasn’t always around to save him. She loved him very deeply, but wasn’t there to protect him when it happened.
She had told him to not wander off, told him to stay put with his nymphs, but Peter just couldn’t help himself.
Harley had realized that the Olympians had a conference coming up, and as gods, they wouldn’t notice how long time would pass. He summoned a dog to encourage Peter to follow to the edge of the world. There, far out of reach from the gods of Olympus, the ground opened and swallowed Peter whole, with no one around to tell.
