Work Text:

Dazai was sat in the living room when she started to feel awfully nauseous, again. This lead to her throwing up, again. This had been going on for two weeks now, her boyfriends Chuuya, Kunikida and Oda had been careful... Fuck. What was she supposed to do other than... Take a pregnancy test.

The thought sent a jolt of panic through her. She'd always been meticulous with her birth control, but the recent stress of work and a particularly intense case might have thrown things off. Her mind raced, replaying every intimate moment with each of her partners, trying to pinpoint a potential lapse. The idea of being pregnant was overwhelming, a complete upheaval of the carefully constructed life she shared with the three men she loved.

She knew she couldn't put it off any longer. With a shaky breath, Dazai pushed herself up from the sofa, her stomach still churning. She needed to get to a pharmacy, and she needed to do it discreetly. The last thing she wanted was for Chuuya, Kunikida, or Oda to find out before she had a definitive answer. The weight of the unknown pressed down on her, a heavy, suffocating blanket.

Her heart hammered against her ribs as she slipped out of the apartment, pulling her coat tighter around her. The cool evening air did little to calm her frayed nerves. She walked briskly, her eyes darting around, half-expecting to see one of them, though she knew they were all out on various assignments. The pharmacy was a blur of fluorescent lights and unfamiliar products. She grabbed a pregnancy test, her hand trembling slightly as she paid, avoiding eye contact with the cashier.

Back in the quiet solitude of their shared bathroom, Dazai stared at the small plastic stick, her breath hitched in her throat. The instructions seemed to swim before her eyes. This was it. The moment of truth. She followed the directions mechanically, her mind a whirlwind of 'what ifs'. What if it was positive? How would they react? Would they be angry, scared, or… happy? The thought of a tiny life, a blend of her and her beloved partners, was both terrifying and strangely alluring. She set the test down on the counter, her gaze fixed on it, waiting for the lines to appear, for her future to be revealed. The silence in the bathroom was deafening, punctuated only by the frantic beat of her own heart. Positive.

Two distinct lines. The word echoed in her mind, a stark, undeniable reality. Positive. Her knees buckled, and she sank to the cold tile floor, the pregnancy test still clutched in her trembling hand. A wave of emotions washed over her – fear, disbelief, a strange flicker of wonder. This wasn't just a possibility anymore; it was real.

Her carefully constructed world, once so stable and predictable, now felt like it was teetering on the edge of a precipice. How could she tell them? Chuuya, with his fiery passion and protective instincts; Kunikida, with his meticulous plans and unwavering sense of duty; Oda, with his quiet strength and profound understanding. Each of them would react differently, and she had no idea how to navigate their individual responses, let alone their collective one.

The thought of their faces, their expressions when she broke the news, sent another jolt of anxiety through her. Would they see this as a burden? A disruption to their dangerous lives? Or would they embrace it, embrace the idea of expanding their unconventional family? She loved them fiercely, and the thought of disappointing them, or worse, driving them away, was unbearable.

She took a shaky breath, trying to steady herself. Panic wouldn't help. She needed to think, to plan. This was a new mission, perhaps the most important one she'd ever faced. She had to be strong, for herself, and for the tiny life now growing within her. Slowly, she pushed herself up, her gaze falling on her reflection in the mirror. Her eyes, usually so sharp and mischievous, held a new depth, a hint of vulnerability and a burgeoning resolve. This was her reality now, and she would face it, head-on. But first, she needed to find the right moment, the right words, to tell the three men who held her heart that their lives were about to change forever.

She carefully tucked the pregnancy test away, a secret she would guard until she was ready. The apartment, once a sanctuary, now felt charged with unspoken possibilities. Every creak of the floorboards, every distant siren, seemed to amplify the momentous secret she carried. She spent the rest of the evening in a daze, going through the motions of her routine, but her mind was miles away, constructing scenarios, rehearsing conversations, and trying to anticipate every possible outcome.

The next few days were a blur of heightened senses and internal turmoil. She found herself observing Chuuya, Kunikida, and Oda with a new intensity, searching for clues in their expressions, their gestures, their words. Chuuya, ever the observant one, noticed her quietness. "Everything alright, Dazai?" he'd asked, his brow furrowed with concern, his hand gently resting on her arm. She'd offered a weak smile, mumbling something about being tired. Kunikida, immersed in his meticulous planning, seemed oblivious, but his usual structured approach to life now seemed both comforting and daunting. Oda, with his quiet wisdom, simply watched her, a knowing look in his eyes that made her wonder if he already suspected something.

The weight of the secret grew heavier with each passing hour. She knew she couldn't keep it from them indefinitely. This wasn't just her news; it was theirs too. They were a unit, a family, and this new development would affect all of them profoundly. She decided she would tell them that evening, when they were all together, in the comfort and familiarity of their home. The thought sent a fresh wave of nerves through her, but also a strange sense of liberation. The unknown was terrifying, but facing it, together, was the only way forward.

She prepared a simple dinner, her hands moving almost automatically, while her mind raced. The aroma of the food filled the apartment, a comforting scent that did little to soothe her racing heart. When Chuuya, Kunikida, and Oda finally returned, their usual boisterous greetings were met with Dazai's uncharacteristic quietness. They settled around the dining table, a familiar ritual that now felt charged with an unspoken tension.

Dazai cleared her throat, her voice a little shaky. "There's something I need to tell you all," she began, her gaze sweeping across their faces, trying to gauge their reactions. Chuuya's eyes narrowed slightly, a hint of concern replacing his usual playful smirk. Kunikida paused with his chopsticks halfway to his mouth, his meticulous nature momentarily forgotten. Oda, as always, remained stoic, but his eyes held a gentle, unwavering focus on her.

She took a deep breath, the words catching in her throat. "I... I'm pregnant."

The silence that followed was deafening, punctuated only by the distant hum of the city. Dazai braced herself for their reactions, for the questions, the shock, the potential anger. But what she saw in their eyes was a mixture of surprise, yes, but also something else – a dawning wonder, a flicker of something akin to awe.

Chuuya was the first to break the silence, his voice softer than she'd ever heard it. "Pregnant?" he repeated, as if testing the word on his tongue, a slow smile spreading across his face. Kunikida, ever the pragmatist, quickly recovered, his mind already whirring with implications. "Are you certain, Dazai? Have you seen a doctor?" Oda simply reached across the table, taking her hand in his, his thumb gently stroking her knuckles. His eyes, usually so guarded, were filled with an undeniable warmth.

A wave of relief washed over Dazai, so potent it almost brought tears to her eyes. They weren't angry. They weren't disappointed. They were... accepting. And in that moment, surrounded by the three men she loved, Dazai knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together, as a family, ready to embrace the extraordinary journey that awaited them.

The dinner table, once a crucible of tension, now hummed with a different kind of energy. Chuuya, his initial shock giving way to a boyish grin, leaned forward. "A baby, huh? Well, I guess we'll need to baby-proof the entire apartment. No more leaving my hats just anywhere." He winked, a playful glint in his eyes.

Kunikida, ever the planner, had already pulled out a small notebook and pen. "We'll need to establish a schedule for prenatal appointments, research the best obstetricians, and begin budgeting for childcare expenses. And we must ensure Dazai maintains a healthy diet and avoids any strenuous activities." His voice, though still precise, held an underlying current of excitement.

Oda, still holding Dazai's hand, squeezed it gently. "This is wonderful news, Dazai. We'll be there for you, every step of the way." His quiet reassurance was a balm to her still-frayed nerves.

Dazai felt a warmth spread through her chest, chasing away the last vestiges of fear. "You're... you're not upset?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.

Chuuya scoffed, "Upset? Dazai, this is incredible! A little us, running around? It's going to be chaos, but the best kind of chaos."

Kunikida adjusted his glasses. "While it presents a significant deviation from our current operational parameters, I believe we can integrate this new development effectively. In fact, a child could provide a valuable anchor, a reminder of what we are fighting for."

Oda simply smiled, a rare, genuine smile that reached his eyes. "A new life. It's a gift."

Tears, unbidden, welled in Dazai's eyes. She hadn't realized how much she'd been bracing for rejection, for anger. Instead, she found acceptance, joy, and an unwavering commitment. This unconventional family, forged in the fires of danger and bound by an unbreakable love, was about to embark on its most extraordinary adventure yet. And Dazai, for the first time in weeks, felt a profound sense of peace. The future was uncertain, but with these three men by her side, she knew they could face anything. "Should we... Uhh- figure out which of yours it is though?" Dazai spoke, "I think it migh be Chuuya's because he was the last person to cum in me since I started feeling nauseous and stuff."

The air in the dining room, which had just moments ago been filled with warmth and acceptance, suddenly crackled with a different kind of tension. Chuuya's boyish grin faltered, replaced by a look of stunned disbelief. Kunikida's pen, poised over his meticulous notes, clattered to the table. Even Oda's gentle smile wavered, his eyes widening almost imperceptibly.

Dazai, oblivious to the sudden shift, continued, "I mean, it makes sense, right? The timing and everything. And you always did have a certain... potency, Chuuya." She offered a small, almost innocent shrug, as if discussing the weather.

Chuuya, however, looked as if he'd been struck by lightning. His face, usually quick to flush with anger, was now a pale shade of white. "My... my what now?" he stammered, his voice a strangled whisper.

Kunikida, ever the one to regain his composure, cleared his throat, his glasses glinting in the soft light. "Dazai," he began, his tone carefully measured, "while we appreciate your... candor, perhaps this is a conversation best had with a medical professional, who can accurately determine paternity through scientific means." He shot a pointed look at Chuuya, who was still gaping.

Oda, ever the calm in the storm, gently squeezed Dazai's hand again, a silent plea for her to perhaps rephrase or elaborate. But Dazai, in her typical fashion, seemed to have already moved on to the next logical step in her mind.

"Well, yes, of course, a doctor will confirm it," she conceded, "but I'm just saying, based on the evidence, Chuuya, you're the prime suspect." She even managed a small, teasing smirk.

Chuuya finally found his voice, though it was still a bit hoarse. "Prime suspect? Dazai, are you implying... are you saying that I'm the only one who...?" He trailed off, his eyes darting between Dazai, Kunikida, and Oda, a dawning horror spreading across his features. The implications of Dazai's casual revelation were clearly just beginning to sink in for him. The "best kind of chaos" he'd envisioned moments ago was rapidly transforming into something far more complicated. "Wait... Thinking about our future... If the child is mine and Chuuya's what if I then have two more children and one can be Kunikida's and the other could be Oda's?"

The silence that followed Dazai's latest pronouncement was even more profound than the one after her initial pregnancy announcement. Kunikida's jaw dropped, his meticulous planning notebook forgotten as it slid from his grasp. Oda's usually unreadable expression shifted, a flicker of bewildered surprise crossing his face. Chuuya, who had just begun to process the idea of being a "prime suspect," now looked utterly flabbergasted, his mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water.

Dazai, however, seemed perfectly content with her logical progression. "It's only fair, wouldn't you agree?" she continued, oblivious to the collective shock. "We're a family, after all. And a family should share in all its joys and responsibilities. Plus, think of the genetic diversity! A child with Chuuya's fiery spirit, one with Kunikida's unwavering intellect, and another with Oda's quiet strength. It would be the ultimate super-family!" She beamed, clearly pleased with her grand vision.

Kunikida was the first to recover, albeit with a visible effort. He pushed his glasses up his nose, his voice strained. "Dazai, with all due respect, the concept of 'sharing' children in such a... sequential manner is not only biologically improbable but also ethically and legally complex. We are not a breeding program."

Chuuya, finding his voice, sputtered, "Biologically improbable?! Dazai, are you out of your mind?! You can't just... order children like they're items on a menu! And what do you mean, 'one could be Kunikida's and the other could be Oda's'?! Are you suggesting... are you suggesting we all...?" He gestured wildly, his face now a furious shade of red.

Oda, ever the pragmatist, gently interjected, "Dazai, while your enthusiasm for a large family is... noted, perhaps we should focus on the first child before planning for the subsequent two. And as Kunikida mentioned, the biological realities of conception are somewhat more rigid than your proposed arrangement." He offered a small, almost imperceptible sigh, a testament to the unique challenges of living with Dazai's particular brand of genius.

Dazai pouted, her grand plan seemingly unappreciated. "But it makes perfect sense! We're a unit, a collective. Why shouldn't our offspring reflect that collective? Besides," she added, a mischievous glint returning to her eyes, "think of the stories we'd have to tell them when they're older. 'And then, your father, Kunikida, with his meticulous planning, helped bring you into the world, while your other father, Oda, provided the quiet wisdom...' It's practically a legend in the making!"

Chuuya groaned, burying his face in his hands. "I'm going to need a very strong drink. Or several."

Kunikida, ever the one to try and restore order, began to meticulously stack the dinner plates. "Let us, for the moment, focus on the immediate future. A doctor's appointment for Dazai, a discussion about prenatal care, and perhaps, a more grounded conversation about family planning." He shot a warning glance at Dazai, who merely hummed cheerfully, already lost in the delightful possibilities of her multi-paternal family fantasy. The "best kind of chaos" had just taken on a whole new, utterly Dazai-esque dimension.
