There is a fortress that never sleeps. Red walls. Cold corridors. Queens who do not weep and fathers who do not forgive.
There is a man who wears the green. He has sworn to defend a king. He has sworn to serve his house. Every morning he puts on his armor and every evening he forgets a little more why.
There is a woman who wears the black. She was sent far from home. She was told to smile, to stay silent, to be a shadow. She watches the bay as if the water might speak to her.
There is a deserted gallery. A glance that lasts a second too long. And that second that decides everything else.
There are willows. A room with white curtains. A vow spoken beneath a tree that no one prays to anymore.
And then there is the war. Dragons in the sky. Iron in hand. Banners proclaiming names that no one recognizes anymore.
There is a secret. The one that no one has spoken aloud yet but that already weighs on everything.
When the gates of the city fall, when the fire devours the stone, when blood flows through the streets like a river without a bed — there will remain one thing that the dragons cannot burn.
But no one knows yet what it is.
