Umemiya was having a great day. After his talk with Haruka last night, they had watched movies until late.
Something he’s learned about his brother is that he lives for a good comedy film, so they have been trying to watch all the early 2000s classics. They made it through Hangover and Ted before Haruka passed out.
After eating a quick breakfast this morning, Haruka ran out the door to hang out with Tsubiki. Apparently they are going shopping today and he wasn’t allowed to know where.
Though that doesn’t bode well for him, he can’t bring himself to mind. Two of his favorite people are having fun together! Whatever chaos they come up with will probably be worth it.
Tsubiki has actually been on his mind a lot lately. They’ve always held a special space in his heart. The first person he met who aligned and supported his goal to make Makochi a safer place.
He’s also always been aware of their crush, but they never pressured him into reciprocating the feelings, so he was happy to leave it at friendship.
Recently though, Umemiya has been noticing things about them that never crossed his mind before. Their beaming smile lighting up the room, their perfume that smells like a mix of fruit and fresh flowers. Even just the way they walk as if they’re always on a runway.
It really is distracting.
Poor Haruka has been the unfortunate sounding board for these new realizations. The idea of going to Kotoha actually gave him the shivers. No way can he give her so much power. He also doesn't want to hear the; I told you so yet.
He will eventually, once he’s decided to act on these new realizations.
Because he will have to do something. Tsubiki has made their interest widely known, and there’s no reason not to pursue the possibility if they both agree to give it a shot.
He knows what Hiragi and Haruka would say, both with the same deadpan look.
Just get it over with already.
He’ll do just that.

If Saruka has to listen to one more minute of Umemiya and Tsubiki’s mooning he's gonna kill himself.
It’s ridiculous! They both like each other, all they’re doing is prolonging everyone’s, but especially his, misery.
So, he has a plan, concocted by the Class 1-1 vice captains. There’s no way he could come up with something by himself, and both of them got a kick out of it. Nirei was especially excited since he was able to put his impressive collection of information on them to use.
That boy was actually scary, Saruka’s just glad they are on the same side.
Haruka already knows that if given the opportunity Umemiya will take it and roll. It really is just a matter of time, but as stated before, he actually cannot take another second of this.
So the plan goes like this. Sakura will take Tsubiki to get their hair done together to avoid suspicion, and then visit the mall to go shopping. The end goal is to get them feeling as confident and beautiful as possible.
Then, Sakura will ask Umemiya to meet up for dinner at Tsubiki’s favorite restaurant, and on his way there Nirei and Suo are going to somehow get him a bouquet of flowers without spoiling the surprise.
By the time Ume shows up Sakura will be long gone and Tsubiki, none the wiser, will be surprised by beautiful flowers and finally getting their feelings reciprocated.
It really is fool proof. He knows both of them are head over heels for each other, and his brother isn’t secretive about his feelings.
I swear, if he fucks this up I’m gonna punch him.

Umemiya is fully aware of the scheme Haruka is plotting. He wasn't allowed to know where he was going with Tsubiki earlier, he also asked to meet him at their favorite restaurant.
And now, his brother's boyfriend and partner in chaos, Suo, just handed him a beautiful bouquet of red roses, tulips, and peonies. All of which symbolize romantic love.
Ah, my little brother is so cute!
Luckily he decided that caution was the best course of action and wore his most stylish outfit and did his hair to perfection. There is no doubt Tsubiki will look gorgeous as always, so he needs to put in some effort.
As Umemiya gets closer Tsubiki’s signature pink hair comes into view standing below a row of hanging lanterns. When they turn to look at him, he’s struck speechless.
They are wearing a beautiful flowing red dress, with their hair braided like a crown interwoven with small white flowers.
He can't keep the beaming grin off his face when they wave at him excitedly.
“Ume! What are you doing here?” They title their head to the side. “I was actually just wait-”
“You look beautiful.” He interrupts, and offers the flowers in his hand. “These are for you.”
They look absolutely speechless. A bright red flush paints their cheeks and they mechanically grab them from his hand. Umemiya’s grin widens. So cute!
“U-Ume, I don't even know what to say!” They look down at the flowers softly. “These are beautiful, thank you.”
“Of course! They compliment your outfit perfectly.”
They really do. Haruka and his friends planned this out perfectly, he’ll have to thank them later.
“Oh my, thank you!” They do a little twirl. “Sakura actually helped me pick it out today. He should be around here somewhere, do you want to join us for dinner?”
“Ahaha! He didn’t tell you?”
Tsubiki shakes their head.
He shrugs. “No matter, he won't be joining us anymore. It’s just the two of us tonight.”
Umemiya offers his hand with a small bow, like a prince in a fairytale. Which was definitely the right decision because it has Tsubiki blushing up a storm before placing their hand in his.

Across the Street
“Well it looks like that worked out perfectly.” Suo says from behind him.
“Yeah! I can't believe I helped the leader of Bofurin and a heavenly king get together!” Nirei practically has steam coming out of his nose, he's so excited.
All Sakura can do is slump back against his boyfriend and sigh.
Finally.
